I just love the idea of a steam punk pirate dwarf fleet, I would have loved to put a couple gunboats in there for escort flavor but the army is soo points heavy, i'm hoping people that are experienced with ko or against ko can tell me if the list is okay or if there are any glaring weaknesses and maybe some tips on what to shave in order to plug such.

That's very good roster for narrative games with your friends, not the sport's one. For a tournament I'd recommend you to get another khemist, change the frigates for another pack of engrinriggers.
