Hello Beautiful People Of DAKKADAKKA!

I definitely need some help with lore-making for my Eldar Craftworld. I always imagine my Craftworld Meenan are full of dauntless and vengeful Eldars who just recently survived a crippling blow from the forces of Chaos during the 42nd Millennium. I could see how the appearance of the Great-Rift not only affected the Imperium but Eldars too in more direct way.
So here a little excerpt from that I'm developing.

"Lorkar Galenatide a grizzled autarch that leads whatever left of his craftworld after the Great Rift and being one few craftworlds and countless worlds caught in the slaughter of the 13th Black Crusade during the 42nd Millennium.
Autarch Galenatide, an eldar who inherit the mantle of preserving his craftworld and their lives. As great eldar heroes and leaders from his craftworld give their lives away to desperately defend their craftworld from impending doom. A large chaos force lead by a Chaos Warlord who carry animosity towards Craftworld Meenan splinter themselves away from Abandon’s Black Crusade temporarily to destroy the craftworld."

That's pretty much what I have so far. I'm completely stumped on how to proceed with this. I want the craftworld to be nearly destroyed by the Chaos Warlord. After the brutal massacre that was dealt by the forces of chaos. I plan for my beloved Autarch Lorkar plots his vengeance against the warlord while his people rebuild their strengths near an exodite world (I've already created an awesome background story about them which I am proud of.) I just find making a craftworld history and culture insurmountable and difficult for me. I honestly think I just lack understanding how craftworld work and Eldar culture even after reading The Path of The Outcast. I truly strive to make my homebrews very lore friendly and immersive as possible with just hint of optimism which makes super hard. I just have the problem of complicating things...XD

The whole point of creating this craftworld was simply developing my Autarch Lorkar's story and mythos. He plays a big role in an Inquisition story or comic that I'm currently making. Lorkar is basically the Doomguy reskin as an Eldar. xD I really enjoy the idea of an Eldar that is more brutish with how he fights. My Autarch is just bad mary sue with a wraithbone prosthetic arm and leg. That has scars that run across the side of his head and burn scars that is beauty blemish on his left side of his face. I love the idea of disfigured Eldar just ripping heads out of bodies and going on a killing rampage against hordes of chaos daemons and cultists.

I'm super sorry if I confusing you guys! I tend to get off track of what I'm trying to achieve alot! xD

I would appreciate if you guys can help me! If you guys like what I'm writing! I would love to share this little story I've crafted and characters I think are very interesting! So thanks guys!

You need to decide what Path your Eldar focus on. Do they have a disproportionate number of Bonsingers, because they are trying to rebuild their shattered craftworld?

Or they seek bloody vengeance, no matter the cost, and have shrine upon shrine of Aspect Warriors? Perhaps they have degenerated into a cult of Khaine, sacrificing their youth to the Court of the Young King in order to gain the power to destroy their enemies.

Do they have extensive ties with the Exodites and Rangers, as they try to find strength in the outer corners of the Eldar domains?

Pick something with games rules and/or a model to be the Craftworld's focus. Try to make that thing distinctive. Perhaps they are so enamored with stealth and brutality that Striking Scorpions, not Dire Avengers, are their dominant Aspect Shrine. Perhaps they seek to weaponize the Warp so their armies bristle with D-Cannon and Wraith weapons. Maybe all of their warriors, even the Aspect shrines, paint their face masks black as a sign of mourning.

The central facet of your craftworld seems to be its shattered state and its ongoing war with Chaos. Figure out how the Eldar have reacted to their losses and how they are waging their war. That will help you shape your craftworld's motivation.

Madness is however an affliction which in war carries with it the advantage of surprise - Winston Churchill

How doomed do you want?

They could have lost most of their honored dead to the fleeing remnents of Chaos, and need to recover them.

Or their Craftworld could be on the verge of catastrophe. With the bonesingers rushing against time to keep it together - or perhaps even consigned to it falling apart and just trying to delay it!

Or the Infinity Circuit could have been corrupted. They must not let any other Craftworld know, but souls of their Honored Dead are slowly being devoured, and all their souls are marked. They will not survive to see even M43.

So, how boned are they?
