Hi everyone,

I am sure i am unique on this forum as i have never played or been interested in these types of table top games, friends used to play in school but i was more interested in the figurines, their assembly and painting.
Decades went by and i was mostly focused on RC vehicles, woodworking and metal working and just messing around in a workshop with big tools!

We have moved to a new city and are renting a small house for a year or two before we buy in an area we really like, so space is at a premium and i have NO workshop space at all...
When i was a kid i built some simple snap together models of airplanes, a few motorbikes and a car or two here and there. My mom was against me painting in the house, along with most other hobbies that interested me...LOL!
So the models were assembled and not painted, kind of boring.

I then went into RC and built gliders and electric planes and flew them for a while as well as cars and buggy's. Cars were a bit 2 dimensional so i focused on flying which was more fun.
Moved countries and sold it all off for the move, now i have some SIMS that i play and really enjoy that now. RC hobbies are crazy expensive these days anyway.

I then discovered Gundam, which reminded me of Robotech from when i was a kid. Built a few kits but soon found out the base kits are fair and the really nice ones were very expensive.
Really enjoyed building them but the itch was not totally scratched to my satisfaction!

A few evenings spent researching online and i discovered a world of miniatures from a vast array of genres!! Perfect for what i was looking for!
Only issue was, I had never painted anything in my life, never mind the amazing details, highlights, shades and washes I had seen online.

Stopped by my local, one and only gaming store and purchased a WarHammer painting kit, it was the Intercessors kit and the only one they had.
Paints were seriously thick in the bottles and required a lot of water to thin, not a good start.
Watched a lot of videos and was mostly still unsure of everything! Only one way to do it, jump in head first!

So many mistakes and I stripped the first victim a few times after not knowing what i was doing.

Looking forward to improving and gaining a lot of knowledge from this community!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
