The single pic shown in the preview above seems to indicate a fighter scale for the game ala X-wing but the text seems to hint at a ship scale ala Armada. With the failure of two of the last three games I got into (bought, assembled, painted, and attempted to recruit for), namely Halo Fleet Battles by the defunct Spartan Games and Robotech Tactics by the hopefully soon to be out of business Palladium Books, I'm always up for another uphill climb!

X-Wing seems to plateaued, so I'm not sure what sort of reception this will receive - but I've been waiting for it! I've been holding onto the diecast figures from several years back for this sort of game, using a flight path-like system.

It's made by the same folks that did Wings of Glory, which the X-Wing system is based on. I also noticed that the bases appear to have twin dials - so you can move in one direction while thrusting in another. It appears the movement will be more Newtonian, to fit BSG's depiction of space combat (at least for 2010 version; might not be used for the 70's/80's version).

Hopefully the ships will be real 3D models as well, not the card/paper cutouts in the demo picture (hopefully that's just for playtesting).

It never ends well

I'm interested in this.

I designed a con game using the 3" Hasbro toys, but never quite finished it properly. It worked, felt like BSG, but was missing something.

Never thought I would see an actual licensed release, especially after all these years since the BSG revival ended.

Interesting. Thanks... I didn't catch that as my eyes glazed over when I saw the paper cutouts. I assumed they're alpha test stand ins although it would probably have been better if they had 3d printed fighters from free files out there for the first ever pic released IMO. I've played true vector based space combat and its a mixed bag. I liked it personally but at the gencon test games someone very turn flew off the map. Somehow the idea of full burn forward for 3 game turns needing 3 full burn game turns in the opposite direction to come to a stop is a difficult concept to grasp in practice. I do like idea of it especially with BSG. Sadly, both B5 games I got into back in the day lacked that mechanic despite it also being in that show.

How much of a release can this game have? I have only seen the newest series which has 4? ships per side. (Vyper 1, Vyper 2, Blackbird and Raptor. Raider, heavy raider, Scar) I am sure I have missed some if anyone can fill in the gaps.
I didn't get the sense that big ships were going to be released into the game.

Yep, that was it.

If they can make the Newtonian movement accessible to the X-Wing crowd, could be interesting.

They are doing the original series as well, which adds a few more.

Maybe they'll add some new designs?
