As per the title, I am looking for models to match the aesthetic of this picture;

The material they are mad in is unimportant but ideally I am looking for models just smaller than an inch, about 21/2 inches long and about 4inches long.

Anyone have any ideas?

I am posting on an iPad, so I will have trouble copying and pasting links, so I'll post names as much as possible.

The Uktra Hawk (2?) from the bandai mecha collection has three pylons that form a vaguely similar shape, with some cutting and shortening of the fuselage. This ship will be roughly two or three inches long depending on conversion, and is very cheap. There are larger scale models, but they are expensive.

Gundam model builders has some claw kits and wings that can make a similar tri-flanged shape, but smaller and requiring more work to get an exact match.

Star Trek Ascendency sells some starbase kits that could work for a very small scale, about 1.5cm. You would need to glue something to the back (bottom of the starbase) so it isn't too flat.

Pegasus Hobbies sell some weird, retro styled rocket kits, although most of them would be too large and too expensive.

You could probably use some craft beads and 3 Lego "diagonal slope" pieces for a thrifty conversion.

For really quick and dirty, a Star Trek Attack Wing Xindi Insectoid ship might work if you snip the tips and squint really hard.

If you can get it cheap, the Eclipse expansion Space Ship One has a lot of 1 to 2 inch long spaceships that could conceivably fit into the background of Babylon 5.

Did we ever see the Markab ship from another angle, or even find out which direction it moves?

Cheers Bob, I had a quick glance through your suggestions and will mull them over.

The answers to your questions are no and no! I am assuming that the front is pointing left on the picture because it has windows and there is no engine glow but that's only an assumption as after the five seconds of appearance in that episode the ship was never shown again, and the species became extinct.

"Among the most powerful of the Gaim ships, the Moas is a converted Markab hull armed with a combination of torpedoes and pulse cannons. (Unique hull)"

Not sure what the "(Unique hull)" means, but AoG sold the same miniature as both a Gaim Moas and a Markab Shafab.

Cheers for the suggestion, it is the obvious solution but from that pic I am not sure it actually shares any sort of design aesthetic with the transport shown above. I haven't been able to track down any alternate shots of it however.

It probably doesn't (but then, perhaps the Markab have more than one shipyard? ). That's what happens when you let games writers add stuff to a film or TV setting.

Edit: found this - lit looks closer when it's in colour.

Check out Hydra miniatures Retro Raygun line, they won't have an exact match but should have something you can modify.

True Metal. Excellent stuff you'll love them. For the original poster Ground Zero Games and Brigade Models will be worth a look.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.
