As the title suggests:
Scout bikes come stock with twin boltgun, shotgun, pistol, and cc weapon.
Regular bikes come with twin boltgun and choice of pistol or chainsword.

Scout bikes come with +4 save and 16" M, while regular bikes come with +3 Sv and 14" M.
In terms of points, scout bikes come 2 pts cheaper.

I don't know if it's only me who feels this way, but scout bikes are way superior choice. Sure, regular bikes can take up to 2 special weapons, but they're kind of more like a tac marine who's gotten hold of a bike rather than a specialized troop that operates on a bike. Scout bikes make MUCH better use of it's speed than a regular bike with its 6 S4 shots at 12" whereas a reg. bike only has 4 shots at 12".

In combat, scout bikes hit twice as much than a reg. bike thanks to its pistol AND cc weapon.

Scout bikes are really good for its price - to a point theres really no point of opting for regular bikes as long as you have a different platform for the special weapons (i.e. sternguard + transport). Scout bikes even have a unit specific stratagems for them! Like, what's going on GW?

What's going on? GW being GW. What? You didn't seriously expect things to be even remotely balanced?

Not to mention the sergeant has to TRADE it's pistol/chainsword for a sergeant equipment list while reg. guys gets to tack it on without trading.

It's really weird that scout bikes get to be equipped with both of their either-or loadouts (shotgun or cc+pistol). If they really want to let them be equipped so, at least let the reg bikers be loaded out with boltgun and cc+pistol, and let them zwap out their boltguns for special weapons...

There's tons of better delivery options for special weapons and they used to have the niche of being a good Troop choice that wasn't Scouts, which is now gone.

I agree, scout bikes are insanely good for the few points they cost.

Don't regular bikers get to shoot their bolters in addition to plasma?

Yes. But the scout biker sarge gets to shoot his shotgun, his stormbolter, and his bike twin boltgun. That 8 bolter shots and 2 shotgun shots at 12", all S4 D1. And he also somehow manages to ride the bike Overall, a 3 model scout bike squad does 22 bolter shots at 12", 7 attacks in CC, plus 2 pistol shots, dealing MW on 2+ after falling back with a stratagem, all of this for for 77 pts.

Yeah, scout bikers seem much superior for points.

But even with this "blatant OP unit" they aren't a tournament choice so kinda says scout bikes arn't OP just regularly bikers suck too much.

I think they arent a tournament choice because no one yet noticed how OP they are.

Seems that neither are a tournament choice because they aren't bright lances

Sadly for DA, Scout Bikes don't have Jink and aren't Ravenwing... DA Chapter Tactics don't do much for them. Probably every other Chapter would use them, but for DA it's better to use normal bikes

Scout bikers are not too good in my view. I feel they are usefull though. I use them regularly and the lack of special weapons, heavy weapons and less armour save makes a big difference. I feel both regular bikes and scouts have different uses.
It's like comparing scouts and regular marines. Without upgrades regular marines are worse. Bring in the upgrades and the the units become different enough.

It's lame that the scout grenade launcher lost rapid fire for some reason in 8th edition.

Brutal, but kunning!

I can't think of any unit that has better EPP for S4AP0 shots than scout bikes.

They're not OP because they dont have 22 S7 shots.

Scout bikes are one of the best platforms for bringing S4 shots, if not the best.

Too bad there's just so much plasmas out there for bolters to even matter...
