1 Wave Serpent w/ Twin Linked Shuriken Cannons + Twin linked Shuriken Catapults + Star Engines 139pts

Total: 1998
CP: 9

Strategy:
-Start with Scouts + War Walkers + Autarch in ongoing reserves + Put Dark Reapers + 20 Man Guardian blob in Web Way Portal.
Put 1 unit of Dire avengers + 1 unit of Fire Dragons in Each of the wave serpents along with all remaining Characters.

-Deploy Defensively behind line of sight blocking terrain to cut down on possible first turn casualties in case opponent gets first turn. Placing everything as close to the front line as possible while remaining out of los. Then deploy Scouts as screening units to reduce turn one charges.

-I’ll be deep striking in the Dark Reapers and Autarch somewhere safe within the scouts screen, conversely the guardians will be used as shock troops jumping in on my opponent's board edge performing multi charges to lock down shooty units and tanks while also shredding infantry with shuriken catapults

-The Quicken Warlock will be used to advance the Vypers to further the screen while the wave serpents advance behind them

-The Vypers will also be used for turn one charges if good targets are available but also will pump out 18 shuriken cannon shots re-rolling 1’s. I know most people will tell my that Vypers are a waste but honestly they haven’t let me down in 8th as of yet.

-The War Walkers will be used for Tank and Heavy Infantry Hunting

-The Main idea for the army is to tie down the enemy with super fast units while I dismantle my opponent’s army piece by piece. I believe that this list will see issues when fighting strong turn one assault armies but I am yet to test that scenario so I will see. Additionally large horde armies might prove to be a problem but I’m hoping I will have enough shurikens to accommodate such an event. This list is as competitive as my mind will provide without being completely cheesy and of course the strategy will vary based on my opponent and the armies they bring. Thanks for your Time and I’m excited to hear your critiques!

With the FAQ changes, how does this affect your army?

To be honest not too much. I drop 2 dark reapers a dire avenger and 5 guardians. I also switch one of the Warlocks out for another Autarch this time a foot slogger. This way I can have a slight beat stick if need be. The strategy stays just about the same though. Here's what it looks like.

Battalion Detachment #1 3cp (Biel-tan)
HQ
Farseer w/ Singing Spear 115pts (Doom + Executioner) 6pp
Warlock w/ Relic (Spirit Stones of Anath’Lan relic) (Quicken/Restrain) 55pts 2pp

Elites
5 Fire Dragons w/ Exarch 120pts 6pp

5 Dire Avengers w/ Exarch + Power Glaive 64pts 3pp
15 Guardian Defenders w/ 1 Shuriken Cannon Platforms 135pts 9pp

Fast Attack
3 Vypers 210pts 12pp

Heavy Support
6 Dark Reapers w/ Exarch 217pts 9pp
3 War Walker w/ 4 B Lances + 2 Star Cannons 260pts 12PP

I would make 2 distinct Craftworld Battalions; Biel Tan and Alaitoc. Move a few units over to the BN that is most fitting. The Vypers, Dire Avengers, and Guardians would be in the Biel Tan BN, while Rangers and Dark Reapers go into Alaitoc. The challenge would be how to divide up the Wave Serpents. I would just make them Alaitoc to help survive 1st turn long range shooting.

To be honest I think I will need to re evaluate my deployment strategies if I want this to work right. The only reason why I don't go alaitoc (because I know that they are great) is because I really like biel-tan.
