A few months ago I fell in love with Shadespire, first for it's cost and second for the fact I didn't need to donate months of work to seeing a project finished. Of course this is me so converting them to look different to the standard warbands and give them an identity was a certainty.

THE STONECAST
First up was the starter set warband, which I based on my Stonecast Eternals AOS Project which you can see here > https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/726181.page, basically I took the boring sigmar marines and made them into far more interesting animated stone guardians of order.

One model I had to change was Steelheart who is the most static model to come out of Shadespire and doesn't look like he's doing anything except posing, so using some Stormcast bits I changed his pose into something more like a battle stance.

The leaves before anyone asks were created using real autumn leaves and a leaf punch.

IRONJAWZ ARD BOYZ
Next up was Ironjaw's Ard Boyz, very simple really, I gave them all helmets that made them look a lot more intimating and tougher.

UPCOMING WARBANDS CONCEPTS
SKAVEN INTO GOBLINS: Cause why squeak when you can Waaaagh!
IRONJAW'S BRUTES: I intend to convert a Brute version of the Orruk warband because they'll look even more bad ass as Brutes than ardboyz.
FARSTRIDERS INTO TZZENTCH'S CHOSEN: All those ranged attacks and a bird familiar, why wouldn't Tzzentch's servants have an interest in Shadespire.
SEPULCHRAL INTO TOMB GUARD: I intend to convert the Sepulchral Guard into a Tomb King warband cause they were some of the best models GW ever created, of course finding tomb kings bits these days is very difficult.

So what do you think to my 2 current Shadespire warbands and my ideas for the other 4?

Honestly, your Stonecast are still my favourite thing I've ever seen done with Stormcast.

Also, I'm watching your 'Skaven into Goblins' idea with interest. Haven't thought of that before, but it's a great idea

Oh, and I've come up with a semi-expanded Shadow War idea and need some feedback! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/726439.page

Lastly I contribute to a blog too! http://objectivesecured.blogspot.co.uk/ Check it out! It's not just me

The stonecast conversions are very very cool. Nice idea very well executed.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Those Orcs are amazing. All the markings on the armor came out really well.

I'll admit I'm starting to tinker with gently giving the existing Shadespire warbands a shove sideways, so happy to see your collected work doing the same

Of both these bands and the inspired painting, I still think your conversions to Steelheart are some of my favorite and most needed. Every time I start scheming eevil things to do to the Stormies, I keep looking at him stupidly holding his helmet and try to come up with ways of liberating that ...

Also my vote is for Tizzstriders! Smart!

So it begins! The first of the Moon Clan Grot Warband has appeared. Given that Krrk's spear is only range 1 I decided to turn it into a sword. Still needs some work but a promising start and a great conversion for the bodyguard.

Very nice. The living stone guys are pretty cool, and really like those rat-gobs

Looking forward to seeing them progress, and the Tzeentch guys when you start them.

Normally I love your work, but seeing those really nice Skaven sculpts turned into gobbos? Sorry dude, but that gets a 'meh' from me.

TZZENTCH FATESTRIDERS!
The Tzzentch FateStriders are now fully converted!
Because why have Sigmarines when you can have Sorcerers, why use bolt pistols when you can hurl magic. Why wouldn't Tzeentch's followers be interested in Shadespire.
I tried to match up the poses as close to the original as possible, I took some creative liberties with Fatestrider himself but the other two are accurate.

Fatestrider - I intended to have the bird from the Acolytes box but was unable to find one. So I settled for a blue horror, though I'm worried he make take up too much space? Perhaps I should make him removable and only put him on when he is inspired?

Eagle Eye - Very pleased with this one, the head was a happy accident when I had a head leftover from the Dark Angels bits for my Evocators.

Swiftblade - ....I should remove that Khrone icon dangling on the left arm lol

Sadly with all my 40k projects, these guys might not get painted for a while.

These are great, well done throughout. Eagle Eye is a particularly strong match but even ignoring the counts as factor these are still really tasty Tizz conversions

Props on the presentation too, with the ghosted image of what they're repping

Converted a few weeks ago to be Farstriders, with the release of Nightvault and the magic-wielding Cursebreakers I went back and made some tweaks. Trying once again to best to match their poses.

So now my Fatestriders are now Fatebreakers!

Going from the top...
I decided to swap out his sword for a more demonic looking one since he will have "Cleave"

Felt I needed to include the Tzeentch scroll so this guy is equipped with a scroll of knockback 1.

Originally this guy had a Tzeentch Horror on the base with him, I'm glad to be rid of it. I also replaced his axe in his 1st left hand with a flame. Can't wait for a magic duel with his Stormcast original.

Always loving the twist you give your warbands. keep it up!

A Squeaky Waaagh!!

Camkhieri: "And another very cool thing, my phones predictive text actually gave me chicken as an option after typing robot, how cool is that."'

Meercat: "All eyes turned to the horizon and beheld, in lonely and menacing grandeur, the silhouette of a single Grot robot chicken; a portent of evil days to come."

NEVER SEND AN ACOLYTE TO DO A SORCERER JOB!
Presenting my Fatebreakers Nightvault Warband!
I tried my best to match the original Cursebreaker model poses. To be honest I think mine are a bit easier to recognise at a glance; the dude with the deamon blade is the one with cleave and the one with the scroll has Knockback.
Of course, I always keep the original mins handy for anyone who would object to me using these proxies.

So what do you think?

Hey mate, great work here! I'll echo the praise for the Stonecast - you've taken what are usually nice but boring models and made them aesthetically and thematically interesting - sweet stuff.

I'm also a big fan of the new Tzeentch dudes. I'm a little surprised by the amount of knockback I see online to converting proxies/counts-as models at the moment, given that when I started the hobby half the entries in a given codex had no miniatures and you were explicitly encouraged to either use stand-ins or build your own. There seems to be a few guys around who "wouldn't play against that" - but then again it's the internet and I luckily haven't run into any of them in real life yet.

Loving your work so far, really excited to see the skaven to goblin group in particular. Thanks for sharing
