I'm shelving my Khorne army for a while and moving on to start a small Custodes project. This here is a quick 1k pts list with some units I like the look of:

As I said, this is a new army and I haven't really come across any Custodes armies in my area so this is just based off of what I think looks cool. From what I can gather, the Captain and the Vertus Praetors give me some decent maneuverability and some anti-horde fire, the Allarus' give me some elite unit hunters and the Guards just give me some solid objective grabbers.

Suggestions on the list, tactics and what stratagems would work well with this list are all welcome.

From my looks at Custodes, they are a stratagem-use heavy army, and the stratagems are better used on bigger units, so, I don’t know how I would do 1000 points of Custodes, but with 2000 points, I might take large troops squads for more effective stratagem use.

I'm wanting to keep it as a small force for the time being, maybe move to 2000pts later but for now keep it at 1k.

A lot of things I've read about Custodes say they're very CP hungry, I could swap the Allarus' for a min-sized Guard Battalion for 8CP rather than 3CP...

3 shield captains on bikes are almost unstoppable, especially at lower point games. Pick one as the warlord, give him the feel no pain, the relic that gives a 3+ invulnerable save and the bloodgames stratagem. He is extremely hard to kill, very maneuverable, and can't be targeted unless he is closest.

I can't take 3 Shield Captains at 1000pts thanks to the new FAQ.
