Anyone got any go to models to use as a base for a converted trukk? I need another one and as much as I like certain aspects of the official
Trukk model, I’m just kind of sick of them.

So any fun trukk ideas out there?

Do you want to start with a GW model or is non-GW ok?

I mean the one I can think off ofhand would be a Taurox - that big boxy engine and front end would look great with a flatbed back. It would take some work though.

Or whatever that weird vehicle GSC use.

Non-GW almost anything 1/48 scale.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

I’ve done so many conversions over the years, I’d go anything, official or not. I used to use old GI joe vehicles for bases but the store that sold them in town went under. The last couple I have in my bits room are slated for space marine conversions.

Taurox might be a cool one, I forgot that thing exist.

I always find 1/48 vehicles hit or miss. Got a big consignment shop in town full of models though. Might go trolling through it for something exotic from world war 2.

I’ve hit converters block.

Genestealer rock grinder is a good option too.

I think my favorite I ever saw was made from an old collectible Hess truck, but now I can't find the picture.

Rhinos and chimeras are also a good base for a converted trukk. I've seen amazing drukhari raiders and eldar wave serpents converted into trukks but those are not easy conversions if you want a (very) good result.

The gen cult vehicle is the obvious choice.

The WW2 German half-track is great for trukks, if you want to do a bit of converting.

Second the Goliath, and the Half Track options. I haven't tried Kromlech trukks but their other stuff is awesome so I'm sure they'd be great.
Also, don't forget, if you want to keep it in GW, there's the whole AoS line, especially the KO stuff. Saw a couple 'pirate' ork ships, converted from their sky frigate
