You're presumption is generally correct, there is no general exception.

Read the datasheet of the specific unit in question though, it will tell you all the relevant rules.

Unless the titans rules say otherwise, it follows the same rules as everyone else.

If you're running Titans you should be discussing and house ruling things that feel weird pre-game. It's not like they're viable Matched Play units!
