Here's a nasty list I came up with post-FAQ. Main theory is a ton of fighty characters with 150 screening bodies to ensure they make it to the foe. I have little in the way of long ranged firepower though, which could be a weakness. I kind of find that guard firepower tends to be laughed off by alaitoc eldar or custodes with a vexilla however, so perhaps CC is the way to go? I'll still have a decent amount of lasguns and plasma guns.

My main query is whether to keep the custodes. 500pts would buy a TON more bodies to swarm every objective with.

Maybe a supreme command with 2 tank commanders and drop the regular commissar for a lord commie instead of the custodes command. And you would have some points left over for a few more bodies

Pretty good with valhallan cause it'll be firing at BS 3+ for a good amount of time.

I assume the petrov's commander is gonna chill with conscripts, Commisar with the regular boyz?

Tank commanders are a thought... It does give opponent's anti-armour something to shoot at though, and ALL of it would be focused on them. They're not very tough point-for-point. The custodes have the advantage of being able to hide behind guardsmen or scouts and be un-targetable turn 1, and perhaps turn 2 if needed. They'd be great if going first, but likely die if going second against any army with decent firepower, which would be sad.

Yeah, petrovs goes with the conscripts, as does the astropath with barrier. With barrier and 'take cover' stratagem to give +1 to saves, I have the potential for 3+ save fearless conscripts The commissar is just cos I had 15pts left over, and he seems like a decent deal for a good morale buff and another annoying character for the opponent to deal with.

Yeah, that is the biggest problem with them for this list. Valhallan regiment does offset the incoming a lil bit. Custode captains might work better as dedicated anti-tank if they have the missle launchers.

That is a good thought actually, I think the salvo launchers are a bit sub-optimal, but in a list so starved of anti-tank they might well be worth it!

I'm trying to imagine what the meta will be like post-FAQ. I'm sure eldar, custodes jetbikes and other imperium allies will be featuring heavily.

I'd drop the custodes detachment, go with 2 battalions instead, make one Cadian and bring 5 bask or 3 manticores.

I just don't see how your current version deals with other heavy gunlines that feature 100+ T7 wounds with 50-100 infantry out in front of it in screens.

Looks like the list will struggle against heavier armour, anything such as Leman Russes or Land Raiders with T8 or higher.

Also, are you able to take Relics from multiple armies? I thought you could only take a Relic from whatever army your Warlord belonged to?
