I guess when your acting career goes into the toilet the next step is to be a glorified pimp for a cult leader.

Yeesh, Hollywood types can scare me.

You think only Hollywood types get involved with cults or human trafficking?

I'm trying to think of another actor or actress who got into human trafficking and coming up totally empty.

If the argument is that people in power abuse it, then that applies pretty evenly to, well, every industry ever.

It was more of a tongue in cheek comment. However, many in Hollywood have been involved in human trafficking. Mostly its actors buying the services of prostitutes. However, there have been many reports of it going further than that. I believe Justin Bieber mentioned it a while back. Also the Me Too movement showed that many producers were willing to pass around potential actresses.

You can't say buying the services of prostitutes is involvement in human trafficking. You could arrest tens or even hundreds of thousands of people on charges of trafficking if sollicitation is counted as, its not like the whole US prostitution world runs on hollywood.

Also define many? More than the average? Anything to back up the knock on hollywood when the Me Too movement went across industries?

Well, both the media and politicians have stated that customers are part of sex trafficking.

Well I don't think hollywood stands out then. Ironic coming from politicians though. Regardless, what media and politicians say and what the law states are two different things.

No need to wait for a movie, just watch Wild, Wild, Country on Netflix and you'll get an idea of what happened to her.

I am just curious at what point do you realize what you are? I mean, obviously, you are not going to go "Hey, I could be a cult leader", exactly. But at some point there has to be a self realization of what you have become and what have you done, right? A point where you step back and see what you have built and have the decision to either ignore your status as a cult leader or leave because you don't want that.

I'm back!

So by that reasoning I guess we can equally say:

Yeesh, military types can scare me.
Yeesh, religiolus types can scare me.
Yeesh, single dad types can scare me.
Yeesh, political types can scare me.
Yeesh, college types can scare me.

Already is...

Theres some strange gak that goes on behind the walls and fences of the scientology bunkers and complexes.

There bases and sites are rather well fortified and protected.

They guard there secrets well and people have come out and hinted at strange things behind the scenes. All true... Who knows. But it's pretty universal that somthing strange goes on deep where no one else can see.

Hollywood did have, or still does have rather dubious ties to them.

So a girl was in a tv show shot in Canada, then went on to be in a New York based cult, and some people conclude that this proves something about Hollywood.

"A guy born in Boston just got in a fight in Chicago, just goes to show how much of a mess Detroit is these days."

Anyway, cool story. If it does get turned in to a movie I'd watch it. I love cult stuff, it's quite amazing how human psychology can lead to such incredibly awful decision making.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

It doesn't have to, though. I know all the secrets of good decision making, and if you come hang out with me in my shack I'll be happy to teach you.

Great you made it to the shack. Put on this robe and then text all your friends and family that you're never going see them ever again, then we'll start your lessons on how to avoid ending up in a cult.
