What is the best raven guard dreadnought to include in a gunline list? I have 443pts to play with...

I don't think it being Raven Guard makes too much difference here. You can't use Strike From The Shadows on it, but any ranged dread will benefit from the Chapter Tactic.

So what's the best gunline dread generally? Well there's several good options. Most of the best ones are Forgeworld, or require Forgeworld parts, though.

Mortis with quad Lascannons or Autocannons is always good. Then there's the big boys the Deredeo (again Las or Autocannon), and the Leviathan which has some absolutely terrifying weapon options.

On a budget that doesn't permit Forgeworld, I'd give the Redemptor a shout. Gorgeous model, fully plastic, and quite a lot of guns!

If you want just the standard Dread without redempt parts or forgeworld stuff (since the above poster didnt even bother to mention an option for the standard model) a Lascannon/Missle Launcher is generally considered to be the top of the line for ranged Dreads.

In a Trayzn pokeball

Twin lascannon and missile launcher on a ven dread. You're not rolling with many shots, so getting the BS 2 is worth it, plus the FNP is really nice. Or go mortis, which is not very expensive, you can just buy a plasric dreadnought and a left arm off forge world.

You love the T-Rex. Its both a hero and a Villain in the first two movies. It is the "king" of dinosaurs. Its the best. You love your T-rex.
Then comes along the frakking Spinosaurus who kills the T-rex, and the movie says "LOVE THIS NOW! HE IS BETTER" But...in your heart, you love the T-rex, who shouldn't have lost to no stupid Spinosaurus. So you hate the movie. And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

If you're talking about 400+ points available, you can go with two "normal" dreads or run some FW styled ones for serious firepower. The Leviathan is nothing to sneeze at (and trumps all other dreads available to you).

The Contemptor with conversion beams is silly, though ugly unless you get a proper FW one.

Are you trying to kill tanks or hordes? A good dreadnought with BS 2+ will do work with something as simple as twin heavy bolters, etc.

I like the twin lascannon and twin autocannon loadout. You get some solid anti tank in the twin lascannon as well as the twin autocannon which can plink wounds off t7 3+ vehicles just fine as well as be a threat to medium-heavy infantry.
