Hello DakkaDakka community.

I have a quick question regarding the game mode which uses the tactical objective cards. My friend and I have just bought a set for our armies and intend on having as game this evening, but sadly we don't have access to the rule book in the office, so I wondered if someone could be kind enough to give a quick breakdown of how they work. (We have the rulebook back home).

Is it;
- Draw one card per turn every turn
- Draw cards equal to the turn number and discard any over/incompletes

Any help here would be great, so you have my thanks in advance.

Depends on the mission, each is different and tells you how many cards and how to interact with them (like if they're secret objectives) on its mission page.

Each mission tells you how to use the cards. Each has a different number of objectives you draw each turn, some have special stratagems to discard some (in addition to the BRB discard stratagem) and some like the Targets of Opportunity mission make you discard all of them at the end of the turn, while most other missions you hold onto them until you complete them or discard them with a stratagem.

Also, this is not a forum to just ask for rules wholesale. If you want the actual rules you have to wait till you have the rulebook back in hand. Giving out rules wholesale is basically piracy and sets off the GW Legal Jets.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"
