So are the Aquila, Maximus, Iron kits at all compatible? Like can arms legs and weapons be swapped without any problems?

You can put them though it can look bit weird having MKIII armour with it's rivets in MKVIII armour. Also fluffwise there will be some weird effects if you care about that.

Older kits (Pre 6th edition IIRC) had the pegs that line up the torso halves reversed. So if you wanted to do something like use the cape back from the multi-pose commander kit on a modern front torso, you may have to shave them off and line things up manually.

But by and large, marine kits are 100% compatible.

If your unlucky enough to have the 2nd ed warriors of the imperium/ bike squad then they are not compatible due to the flat hips and not the ball joint the multi part marines have
