Hi all

I haven't played a game yet but I've been rather busy since before Christmas churning out terrain just in case I may be able to get a game at some point...

Thought I would share where I've gotten to. Who else has examples for me to steal... I mean be inspired by?

That is a super amazing table.

We've been using plastic containers for things like pencils for many of our buildings. They're cheap and come in various sizes.
My buddy also takes discarded cans, corrugated cardboard and popsicle sticks and makes buildings, shanties and all the walkways you see in the pics below.
He also printed off several warning signs, graffiti and even miniature movie posters that we stuck all over the plastic container buildings.

The stackable containers work really well. Talk about modular construction

Very nice Baxx. What is the base? Is it a printed mat or did you paint the surface. The little square of hazard stripes looks especially cool.

Note sure what it is or what it's called. Something I found a long time ago somewhere on the interwebz, ebay etc. It is similar to mdf but maybe a little thinner.

Almost the same as the hard board on the back of these kinds of sheet holders:

Yes. The fear is of course that your grand building base is going to warp. So far they have been extremely flat. I've had moderate amounts of glue (PVA, white wood glue) to stick the sand and some more powerful glue (composite glue) to the structure legs of the buildings. Just keep it away from water and I think it's one of the best alternatives out there. Sturdy, flat, thin and don't seem to warp over time.

Inspiration, I have just built my systema gaming base-0 terrain

Iā€™m just waiting on the board, I have foam board but I think itā€™s to light so will be looking in to ply or mdf

Will also be getting a mat so could have it over the foam to keep the 2 halves together

In a nutshell it should look like this when done

New tower I'm working on, two more levels to add to the bottom then all the side extensions (landing platform, another crane, promethium tanks, defensive guns)

LOL IKEA, the whole lot is modular
Can have single and multi level areas, for a bundle its great and defiantly better than what I was looking at first.

Just looks tacky compared and for the same price

Not sure, can still pick it up with one hand. Thankfully it breaks down into three sections.

I have this set - and it is excellent value. However, looking at yours the intact buildings add a sense of realjsm and purpose that mine lacks. I might have to get some intact pieces to break up the sight-lines some, and more importantly add character.

Hmm... looking at your one xerxes, that seems more Necromunda-y. Rybrook's is nice, but it screams "I'm 40K terrain!" rather than something you'd play Necromunda on.

That's not to say that there's only one type of terrain one can play Necromunda on, but gantries and random walkways and levels feels far more Underhive than a bunch of neat and orderly buildings.

Oh, that reminds me, I built this monster thing:

And I gots plenty more to go:

And the last time we were using old skool Necromunda terrain, we had these two tables:

cool thread! so much to nick ideas from!

@ lord_blackfang: in your pics there are scratchbuild structures...probably made from plastic card...the cross- shaped structure and others as the t-shaped one... mind showing them a bit more closely? aka with better pics... i really like these builds...would love to rebuild them for my own sinister purposes...

cheers ,vik

You mean this stuff?

They are plasticard "zone mortalis" walls. Just my take on the many mdf versions you can buy online.
