Finally finished painting up most of my FEC models and Ready for the first game with them vs. Sylvaneth.
I would really appriciate som input on tactics and what to take in the list ex. Flayers over horrors, gk on dragon over GK on gheist and such. I have no Idea what my opponents list Will consist of.
I have the following models
Ghoul king
Infernal courtier
Haunter
Varghulf
Terrorgheist
Dragon
30 ghouls
6 flayers and 6 horrors

There's nothing unusually good or bad in FEC, so like any new army the best place to start is playing several games to get a hold on how things work with them. You'll probably want to run Ghoul Patrol though.

I also just started playing a FEC (as an alternative to my regular Legions of Nagash), and I wanted to start with some simple 1000 point pitched battles and I find it hard to get everything in.

Would you run a Ghoul Patrol with the bare minimum and a ghoul king on Terrorgheist as the leader, or run a footslogger ghoul king with fleshed out (pardon the pun), ghoul patrol. I can see the footslogger being eaten alive if you don't give him the right amount of chaff to surround him.

Also, has anyone run the Abbatoir? Rolling mortal wounds on 6s for every enemy MODEL within 3" of any model from this formation in each of your Hero Phases sounds like a wrecking ball if you can get off a turn two charge and stay in different combats the whole game.

Just an FYI, things are going to change in a few weeks with 2nd edition so it's going to be hard to give/get advice until then.
