Prior to my upcoming move, I was going through some stuff to donate. My son has this Batman Begins tank toy that we were going to donate, but then I noticed how similar in size it was to a Land Raider. Slap some sponsons on that thing and it'd be a great proxy.

But I'd eventually want to make it more than a proxy. So my question is 2-fold
1) Do the aesthetic of the Bat tank look like they could be altered to fit the Chaos Aesthetic?
2) Aside from putting the correct weapons on the model, what other bitz and alterations might you suggest?

Keep in mind that this is not going to be for tournament use, but I'd like it to be passable as a Land Raider even by most tourney standards

Thanx

It has a similar overlapping armor look to the Heldrake.

If you're good at finicky detail adding some trim to each panel with plasticard etc would help tie it in.

An subtle element of the 40k aesthetic that a lot of people miss when making these types of non-GW conversions is the hatches. If you can find some hatches from a Land Raider, Leman Russ, or some other vehicle to attach to the tank you'll be able to sell the aesthetic a whole lot more convincingly.

Yeah, the front wheels make it a bit problematic to put a front hatch, but the sides might be fine. I actually have a few top hatch doors (the small 1-Marine ones) that could be added to the top.
As for the trim, I am pretty confident in just painting those on. With the right layering effects, it could look 3D and probably be easier that actually putting plasticard on.

Time will tell. I probably won't have time to start this until mid-June.
