Brief intro - just getting back into 40k after an 18 year hiatus. Still trying to get my head round all the changes (and the prices...) and choosing where to start.

Rather than spend a fortune on lots of paints straight off the bat, I've been experimenting with magical technologies that weren't available last time I was painting miniatures to try out colour schemes without needing to pick up a brush, so I can just buy the paints I really need to start with. I think I've found a winner with Sketchbook Pro on the iPad.

The results will need to be in a follow up post as I can't put links in this one. It only took 20 minutes and it gives a good impression of how an army would look all painted up on the table. Obviously this involves plagiarising images of painted miniatures, but I've got to start somewhere. If anyone's interested I can provide some details on how to do this but it's straight forward and requires no artistic skill whatsoever.

The most important question though is what do you think of the colour scheme?! Obviously they wouldn't have Ultramarines insignia.

Cheers

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
