Myself and a couple friends recently decided to dust off our old BFG rulebooks and start playing again.

So there we were digging through old boxes that haven't seen the light of day in over a decade, when we discovered that we didn't quite pack/save our old fleets like we should of, and that we were all severely lacking ships to put our fleets together with. So of course the internet being what it is, anyone selling vintage miniatures wants an arm, a leg, and apparently some of them had cancer in a very bad place because they're asking for a left testicle too.

Luckily I happen to have a few skills in drafting and design, I knew studying architecture and drafting would be good for something, and started working on a few ships to get printed out to fill in the gaps of what we don't have as well as to replace a few of the more rubbish designs of yesteryear. (The entire ork line of ships, I'm looking at you)

So feel free to critique, please note that the various designs do diverge from the original models quite a bit at times, either to fix aesthetic concerns or for printability.

Looks like an Ork Kill-Krooza or another orky vessel to me. I like it. Just the right amount of guns sticking out of it. Perhaps you can add some orky glyphs to it. And don´t forget the sign/warning/notice at the back of the spaceship:

"We ain´t braking for no git!"

After posting that last night, I realized I'd forgotten to mention what it was supposed to be, which is an ork terror ship. Which is about the same thing as a kill kroozer just with hanger bays on the side instead of more guns.

Thank you for the comments, as for the glyphs I decided against them simply due to the size of the model. From nose to end it's only about 7cm, to make a glyph that would fit I'd either have to remove some guns or make the glyph so small as to make it nearly illegible hence defeating the purpose of the glyph. At some point I'll revisit the idea of a glyph plate, perhaps for space hulk parts or as part of an ork battleship where the size of the underlying model will allow for such embellishments.

So to avoid having to make a second post, let me show off the space marine hunter destroyer I designed for one of my friends as the orginal model is rather terrible and shares little of the aesthetics of the rest of the space marine vessels.

So I've been meaning to get online and post more images, but I've been being lazy. So here goes...

So the first image is a slight redesign to the hunter escort I already posted. One of my two friends who are interested in that design said they liked the single cannon, the other was like can you make it with two smaller cannons on the prow. So I went back and reworked the prow to make a version with two smaller cannons.

The second set of images is of an Ork onslaught attack ship. I stayed fairly true to the original artwork and model on this one, although you'll notice I got rid of the goofy rear and side fins. One thing I noticed while working on these designs is how much the ork ships, in the artwork, look like fish. I'm not talking your everyday goldfish, I'm talking about the one that are nothing more than a face full of ugly and teeth.

The third set, is for an ork brute ram. I'm not entirely happy with this model, the engines are alright, and I like the prow. But there something missing to the design I think, definitely something I'll be coming back too once I get a couple printed out.

And lastly, just a screen shot of my main work file. This is were the magic happens...

Go crazier with ther details. These are supported to be gigantic ships, so every millimetre needs to have detail to give you that kind of scale.
