My shiny new Van Saar models came through today. They are lovely lovely things. So I banged out a standard rad cannon bearer using the instructions to get my eye in.

But then got bored and decided that my other champion needed to be a bit more dynamic than the normal posing permitted.

If the lady is going to be dual wielding rapid fire pistols then she needs to be jumping over something!

I'll need to do some more trimming and filling around her bum, and stick shoulder pads over the trimmed shoulder joints, but I think it gets the idea across

Deposing the legs was a bit of a pain due to the tight fitting nature of the normal poses, but it is possible. Also I trimmed the carbine front end down a little as they are too long when mated with the pistol grips to become the sub carbines.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I like that a lot. Dynamic and does something different to break out of that duplicate pose.

I laughed out loud when I saw that second pose, that's some serious action movie styling! Very Max Payne.

I'm still a little torn about whether I like those models, but you've made them look much better.

Thanks guys

Ooh Max Payne. She needs some painkiller action There must be a part on the sprue somewhere that'll work.

Looking good - it is a pain that such a distinctive pose is duplicated, but then they are wonderful kits generally and I suppose nothing is perfect.

Baron, don't forget to talk about the SEALs and Marines you habitually beat up on 2 and 3 at a time, as you PM'd me about.

Managed to find the time for some more.

First of all is my leader. Bodged the female chest plate onto one of the male torsos. The fit isn't too bad with some judicious trimming and a touch of GS piping at the join. I went for a combi plasma as it's a touch cheaper than the melta option that comes in the box. Also added a helmet cam from a cadian head I had kicking about.

And because it appears that grenade launchers are the bees knees this edition did a simple weapon swap on a standard pose.

And finally here is Spod. Spod is a juve, hence the light armament and, frankly, air of terror For this one I trimmed down the final male chest piece from the previous sprue (The one I swapped out on my leader) and budget it onto the female torso for a rather more slight gang member. Again it actually goes on relatively easily if you remove the extra hoses.

C&C welcome.

Hmm. What to try next. I do need a suppression laser in there somehow...

Hehe. Your juve works really well.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

And now the gang is in fact all here.

Pretty much finished off my gangers. 3x lasguns and one suppression laser and staff, for when the encounters get a bit too close.

I'm much happier with the modularity of the kit than I thought I would be. It may be deliberate but you can deviate from the stock poses with relatively little effort. All the arms basically work with all the torsos, and you can swap the head/neck modules between quite easily as well.

The cure for box stepping also appears to be a kneeling pose. Cut off the box and then one cut to be straight leg makes it work. I found you need the base with the slightly recessed bit to be trimmed slightly to deepen the hole and get the kneepad in contact, but it's also a pretty easy fix.

So now I have leader with las/plas And staff, champions with rad cannon and Las carbine and twin sub carbines, a juve with subcarbine, 3 lasgunners and a suppression laser guy as a starting point. As soon as possible I can sub in my grenade launcher guy before I start getting a bit more esoteric with my weapons (lots of plasma guns and pistols and shields etc).
