Just looking to start out and wanted to make sure this was a legal list. Obviously built from just the Start Collecting box and some eBay models, but starting where I can.

For open play, you're fine. For matched play, with StD allegiance, you're short one battleline unit. If you split your Warriors into 2x5, you'd be gtg.

I believe with StD Allegiance, Knights become Battle line correct? This is based off the GW list Builder. I don't have the generals handbook yet

The Knights do become battleline with the STD Allegiance so you are good to go

A warshrine again and then probably a start collecting bloodbound box since you seem t be intersted in cavalary, the box gets you some boodcrushers who are some of the best shock cave excep for maybe... the vanguard of the everchosen though you will have to take them as allies..
Later it is definately worth getting a blood secrator (the guy with the banner). Maybe wrathmongers to boost your Chaos warriors line.

Additionaly get the chaos lod on demonic mount to boost your knights. and if you want to go for the ultimate cav charge get 3 units of knights, 1 large unit of skullcrushers, lords for both of them chariots to you liking and charge anything, but you will be seriously challenged by everchosen cav, dragon riding sigmarines and orcs on big boars.

Right on. What's the benefit of the Bloodsecrator? Extra attacks? And Lord on Daemonic Mount is definitely on my list, if nothing else but for rule of cool. Same with the Warshrine.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression allies aren't battle line. If I'm wrong, you're good, otherwise, only your knights and chaos warriors would be battle line. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

The Bloodsecrator gives an extra attack to every Khorne unit within 18" and also forces wizards (both enemy and friendly) to reroll successful spells cast within the same range (before you make the unbind attempt) It's arguably the most important model in a Khorne army. And Ultra, you're right. Allies don't not count toward minimums, but they do count against maximums.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize they counted towards max. I thought allies just kinda existed in their own bubble. As far as the Bloodsecrator, couldn't agree more. You left out immunity to battle shock, which can be huge. Now that GW has made him available outside of the starter box, I'm picking up another one.

this is correct, allies are never battleline. It is how they killed the use of clan rats...
