I can't decide! Is one better than the other or does either work? They're both badass models but the extra wounds and movement of the juggernaut seems quite nice. But then the one on foot gets his amazing axe and both have great command abilities... which should I take?

I guess I do have Chaos Knights and gunna be adding Varanguard so maybe the one on the jug is the way to go?

Thanks in advance

I generally find the command ability and axe of the lord of foot to be more useful. Unless you're wanting to run Skullcrushers as battle line, I'd lean toward to lord on foot. Of course, anything could change next month, so I wouldn't write the list in stone.

I agree with this even though my Lord has generally been a disappointment to Khorne during my battles. I attribute that to the tampering of Tzeench causing my rolls to be horrible. My army is still solidly in the winning column but he hasn't contributed all that much. One day that axe is gonna pay off though.

The Reality Splitting Axe has been the MVP for me. I've taken out so many high-value targets just by doing a single wound to them in the fight phase. You just don't know the glory of Khorne's blessing until you've taken out a Mourngul in a single fight phase.

This may be broadening the thread a little, but what sort of units do you guys recommend in a Khornate army? I’ve had a few games using Blood warriors and reavers and Juggernauts (Jugs being horrifically disappointing every game) and I’ve had almost zero luck. It’s one reason I stopped playing but I want to get back into them

(note: with the new edition coming next month, everything I say here may be irrelevant soon) Every Khorne army, Daemon or Mortal, should start with a Gore Pilgrims battalion. 1 Bloodsecrator, 1-3 Slaughterpriests (I recommend at least two), 1-2 Bloodreavers, and 1-2 Blood Warriors. Build the rest of your list around that. The bonus range on the 'secrator's auras makes one of our most important units even better, and Slaughterpriest prayers can absolutely turn the tide of a combat.

I have had success with a massive cavalry army with a juggerlord to lead them. I think I played 40 knights with glaives, a few chariots and had a juggerlord, lord on daemonic steed and manticore to lead them.

If you are going the bloodbound way, I advice staying away from skullcrushers. They are a poor choice.

You also have the StD allegiance where you can use the model as a chaos lord on daemonic mount (which he is) which can be pretty practical too.

Awesome, thanks guys. If it's the same in 2nd, I'll get a Pilgrims battalion going and maybe add a cavelry segment of Knights and some beasts
