I am happy to take ownership of crap I pull, but just deleting unoffensive posts with no explanation is horsegak. Especially in a thread in a death spiral as that one. And I just took a quick read through reds8n's recent posts, some 28,000, and a lot of it looks like useless spam. I was expecting to find a little more Shakespeare, since you guys set the bar so high.

You went on one page from asking people why they don't contact their congressman to send letters before saying you only care about domestic US stuff, which makes it clear you were only in the thread to gakpost. At one point your responses are literally context-free "i don't care".

Lol the one page letter to a congressman was a joke. I am amazed that one slipped by the censors.

Look, if I was going around insulting people, which I rarely do and its only in response to those who start with me, I could understand that. But adding in a joke here and here? That's a HUGE problem while we're trying to solve the Jewish-Palestinian issue on DAKKA? I had no idea Dakka was pursuing a Nobel Prize in Literature award.

I'm a Swap Mod - meaning I deal in that forum exclusively- I have no jurisdiction over the wider forum and my views and opinions are that of a regular user.

Secondly, if the mods really were as biased and as bad as you state, do you not think there would be tons of thread in here whining and complaining? Yet, the only threads in here recently are from you. Strange that.

If you keep running into witches, maybe you should take a step back and think maybe the witch really is you...

Hey now - it's one thing for a Mod to crackdown on someone for making a joke. It's another to go around cussing out users for not being excited that their content was deleted.

I'm no fan of Mods but mostly tolerate your behavior because it makes other people feel safer. When you say things like this, you are just underscoring the fact that this site is heavily censored and the 'policies' for what is and is not acceptable are completely arbitrary. And those policies likely being enforced by someone who is very defensive, and who is also going around violating Rule #1 themselves.

Why don't you think about your statement, about why more people don't complain when content is censored. Is is that they don't have a problem with it, or is it that the Mod team comes down so hard on people they don't think it's worth discussing?

I've have posts deleted on Dakka about all sorts of topics over the years - amateur surgery, bomb making techniques, sulphur-based fuels for motor vehicles, electrocution, face tattoos, bitcoin, beefeaters, kittens, you name it, even when it's in the off-topic forum. I don't even try to have a discussion about them anymore. Being judged is hard enough, being called that word is a really rough way to be treating people.

Not everyone is going to be happy. That doesn't mean you need to kick them in the face.

I'm not going to repeat what you said, but the misogynist term you used to refer to KTG17 was over the top.

I don't particularly care if you apologize for that, but I do think it's worth taking the time to acknowledge that users do not deserve to be treated that way. You can't enforce policies like Rule #1 when you are attacking people yourself.

Plus - Rule #1? You say you want people to think of you as a regular user, is that supposed to mean you are free to launch personal attacks?
