As you can read in the top section of that page, Aeronautica Imperialis is mentioned in the same sentence as Adeptus Titanicus. Of course we've known for over a year that an AT reboot was in the works, but AI coming back is news to me. According to my searches on these hallowed fora, it is news to you too!
Is this really the first we're hearing of this or is it simply being met with silence? I remember AI being quite the dud back in the day, let down tremendously by Forge World being in charge of it. That meant an overwrought, massive rulebook stuffed to the gills with page after page of FW technical readout crap. It meant hyper-expensive resin miniatures. It meant no game materials available for six months or so after the first print run sold out. The whole thing was basically dead in the water.
Will this by any different? Is GW taking a stab at the X-wing gamer?

It seems to be under 'licensed games' not 'specialist games' so I expect it will be a video game. There is an AT video game in the works as well as the wargame.

Well, it's appearing under a Licenced Games heading, chances are GW has Licenced another company their IP to use. Expect a shovelware AI game at some point soon.

That’s under the heading of licenced games. So it’s in the context of computer games. We already know of an Adeptus Titanicus computer game in the works, looks like an AI one is being added too.

Your hopes for this being any good should be about as high as a grot's knees.

I've been told this is/will be a licensed game
Well... Good, actually. I'm getting into tabletop Necromunda and looking forward to Adeptus Titanicus but I'm worried the specialist studio is spreading itself too thin. The release pace and support for Necromunda are atrocious enough as it is.

I'm honestly hoping the Necromunda video game isn't something I have to throw money at for every gang that comes out.

A preview of the game can be found in White Dwarf September 2017, it's a 3D turn-based aerial combat game.

I bought into the game simply for the mini aircraft. Now, I wonder if the old models are the same scale as the new adeptus titanicus.

It sucked so bad I doubt there'd be much demand, also if you want that type of game x-wing is far better than anything GW could conceive.

I never played the game, but I own the rules, and I can't see anything that "sucks so bad" in there. A nicely put together rulebook, pretty concise rules, good models, even if the scale was all over the place (the Thunderbolt fighter was massively out of scale with most of the rest; on the other hand, that means it's probably in scale with the new AT titans )
X-Wing is an evolution of the same idea, but AI had more variety of scenarios, and didn't make me guddle about with fifteen million upgrade cards.

It is a good game. Pretty slick and the manoeuvre cards are very X-Wing esque. The fuel and ammo tracking generated a bit of tension. Scenarios are quite fun
As for the scale, they're all to scale with each other at about 6mm.

I remember measuring the miniatures and comparing them to the "real" dimensions in the Imperial Armour books. The Thunderbolt was way out - more like 1:250 or even bigger, rather than 1:300.

No.... just no.
The only thing X-wing does better is the initiative system. Everything else Aeronautica Imperialis does better.

Do you pilot one ship or is it a tactical style game with multiple aircraft?
