Hi all, I do love radical demonhunters...just so evil and funky, and quite a bit insane. Here's what I'm thinking for a competetive list: inquisitor lord decked out for deepstriker popage standard terminator/librarian command squad two storm trooper squads in rhinoes 4 las/plas squads 9 (!) deathcult assassins heavy bolter devastator squad assault marine squad I'll post some exact values after a while. What do you all think of this concept? If it's good, what chapter do you think would fit in as the allied marines? Relictors? Crimson fists? Could I make 'em deathwatch and call it an ordo xenos list? cheers

Yeah this just gave me a bad idea.

Shooty Inquisitor w/ ertinue
Allied Librarian with Fear ( on bike or Jump pack)
Clulexus assassin
Daemon hosts
some stormtroopers
Sniper scouts
tactical squad

Basically whatever it take s to drive Ld of the opponent down and just do everything possible to scare them off.

You can't take an allied marine HQ choice, and that takes a lot of the fun out of it.

I don't remember if there's a limit on troops, but I know that you cant't take more than one each of the fast/heavy choices.

The inquisitorial codex allying rules are odd - you COULD take a base marine list and then ally daemonhunters to them, but you would only get 1 HQ and 1 Elite choice for your inquisitors/assassins in that case.

What my buddy did was like this:

BA chaplain with super black space marines
Inquisitor Lord with guns and little guys with more guns

A bunch of them daemonhost things

2 squads of stormtroopers with dual plasma
a squad of sniper scouts with a veteran sarge
a couple squads of las/plas BA with a veteran sarge

2 predators (either all las or he might have converted them to baal now that ass-cans don't suck)
Dev squad with missile launchers

He had some other crap I forget, and it wasn't a great army - but he did OK with it by using a lot of finesse and luck with those daemonhost guys. He might also have had a callidus assassin but I forget the rules tbh

Couldn't have had a Calidus, daemonhosts, and a Chaplain.

Not sure of the entire list to be honest, just getting across the concept.

Radical inquisitor, eh?

I would look into using the Exorcist space marine chapter.  Try doing a web-search on them, and you should find plenty to help explain why.  To get you started:

I'm tempted to try an army of them myself.  The paint scheme and chapter badge look pretty sinister, and I've never seen anyone else using them.

I've been running an SM/allied OM list, mostly since I'm not making an enormous army and Inquisitors are better as elites, IMHO. inquisitor/chappy/2x6 elite devs/8 Assault Marines/2x1 Tornado/2x5 IST/3x5 Scouts/2xWhirldwind/1x5 Devs with boltguns. Allied OM just to give the list the feel of a Chapter straining to feild larger forces from a limited pool of available manpower. (okay, and some inexpensive conversion potential...)

When soldiers think, it's called routing.
