I know in the Tau Empire chastes can't hybridate, so fire chaste can only mate with fire chaste, etc. But does the same rule exist in the Farsight Enclaves? As he separated from the ethereals seeking for real freedom of the Tau, it would be a little contradictory that the Enclaves forbidded hybridation between chastes, but not all is logic in the 41st millenium so I wanted to know.

I doubt it. Farsight is like Henry VIII, he's cut out the space popes but the Church of Enclave and the Holy Greater Good are otherwise still the same.

We have had no indication so far that the caste system has broken down in the Farsight Enclaves.
It has proven an effective way to organise Tau society, perhaps Farsight has kept it out of pragmatism.

On the other hand, Air Caste girls have legs for days and the Earth Caste girls have curves in all the right places so I can see where you are going with this...

Farsight does seem to be a bit more accepting of caste-swapping though- one of his closest buddies is an Earth-caste Tau piloting a combat battlesuit, which is thoroughly frowned upon in the Tau Empire proper.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Enclaves were a bit looser than the Empire, but still strongly socially divided into castes (rather than biochemically enforced by Ethereals). Look at India as an example of how caste systems can survive on social pressure alone, even when there is no legal impetus.

Well, Honor-Shas'vre O'Vesa, (Of the The Farsight Enclaves infamous "8") was Earth Caste so either Farsight is a hypocrite or he doesn't care about cross Caste integration.
