So I haven't painted something in roughly 10 years and got the itch to do something more practical rather than digital.

I would love to know what people think. Comments and critiques welcome!

Thank you!

I guess I was ok. I feel like there is a lot more guidance out there now so it is easier to try new stuff like the weathering effects etc.

Thanks! It takes a while to build up but I like the final result.

A 10 year gap?

These are really solid. I paint nearly every day and while I'm always attempting to learn more, my average attempts aren't close to these at all.

Nice work!

Cheers! Most of the stuff I used was fairly simple bits I picked up from YouTube like wet pallets, sponges for weathering and tbh the GW paint app was where I started for the basic colours.

I did have to repaint some yellow the first time I tried weathering. That was heartbreaking!

Each one takes about 8 to 10 hours from primed so it's very much a labour of love.

I've never taken to the new Orks styling, but you've done a good job - like the bright colours. Nice brushwork!

These are great! I love the broken asphalt basing too. My only critique would be that you have done lovely weathering on your boys, but the toe caps on all their boots are bright and shiny. I think scuffing them up a bit would be a nice touch.

Thank you! The bases are from tiny worlds, definitely better than any sand and static grass!

I agree about the feet, it's something I realised then was cautious about how to go about it which such a small surface to work on.

I'll have to man up and have a go!

THOZE GITZ GOT THE BETTA BITZ BOYZ! I GOTTA GET ME SOME MORE GUBBINS FOR FANCY KIT LIKE DA!

Well done honestly. Loving the yellow.

You say Fiery Crash! I say Dynamic Entry!

*Increases Game Point Limit by 100*: Tau get two Crisis Suits and a Firewarrior. Imperial Guard get two infantry companies, artillery support, and APCs.

The yellow is outstanding. Da Bad Moons is what got me started playing orks in 3rd ed. I love the skin. A good solid green. For the toe caps I would use a brown and black wash mix. It does a great job of knocking down anything shinny on orks. Welcome back to the hobby. Enjoy!

Thanks! The yellow and skin tone are from the GW paint app for the ironjaws, the AoS orc things. I've loved painting it and not found it to difficult to work with tbh.

Once I get to the nob I'm going to play about with more freehand stuff.

I am going to have a crack at the toe caps tomorrow night.

The bad moon glyph on the Bob axe is great. That's the stuff that really sets a figure apart. Great job!

Wow these are excellent. I can really see that new Ork collector enthusiasm in these. I wonder if you can keep up this standard after painting like a hundred Boyz...

Haha thank you, I started more for the project than getting 120 boys on the table! I'll be happy once I have 500pts and hopefully the codes makes some of our non-boyz units more viable!

Thank you, I wanted to do weathering without the "cover it in agrax earthshade" approach =P

Here is my completed weird boy.

I tried a few new techniques like the freehand on the base and glowing eyes.
