Been messing about trying to come up with some German lists. and I've ended up with two lists. a Panzer IV ands a Panzer III list.

Panzer IV Company
HQ
2 Panzer IV (Short)

Panzer IV Platoon
4 Panzer IV (Short)

Panzer IV Platoon
4 Panzer IV (Short)

Panzer IV Platoon
3 Panzer IV (Long)

Panzer II Platoon
5 Panzer II (2cm)

100pts

Panzer III Company
HQ
2 Panzer III (Short)

Panzer III Platoon
5 Panzer III (Short)

Panzer III Platoon
5 Panzer III (Short)

Panzer III Platoon
5 Panzer III (Short)

Panzer II Platoon
5 Panzer II (2cm)

95pts

Was thinking maybe add a small Light scout company to the Panzer III list as two platoons and a HQ comes to 5pts. Also tempted to swap the Panzer II's in the Panzer IV list for a big Light scout Company. Any thoughts on this?

I don't think Panzer IV shorts are very good in numbers. Grants for example cost the same and have a AT9 main gun and a AT7 secondary gun. It's better to think of them as armoured artillery and use a small amount in a supporting role.

The Panzer IIIs are better as a main fighting force but I think you could drop some and add more supports like an artillery platoon to help out if you face AT guns. Or one of Marders, 88s, Panzer III longs in mixed squads or Panzer IV long for better AT.

My opponent has used the light scouts to great effect before.

Done a little rethink on the Panzer III (got the HQ card and found out i can have a 4th platoon of III or add a IV as a combat so here's the remake.

Panzer III Company
HQ
2 Panzer III (Up Armoured)

Panzer III Platoon
3 Panzer III (Short)

Panzer III Platoon
3 Panzer III (Short)

Panzer III Platoon
3 Panzer III (Short)

Panzer IV Platoon
4 Panzer IV (Short)

Panzer II Platoon
5 Panzer II (2cm)

95pts

That should do to get you started.

One suggestion. I would look at dropping the 4th PZIV and the 5th PZII and with your remaining 5 points pick up 3 Marders. That extra punch is going to be needed to keep some things like Shermans, Valentines, and Churchills honest.

Marders are an auto-include in any German midwar list.

Grants, Shermans, Valentines, and Churchills don’t have much to fear from Pz.IIIs but they do from blitzing and shoot-and-scooting Marders.

I'd max out those Pz.III platoons and make something like this:

Panzer III (Up-Armoured) Tank Company HQ (p.18) - 1x Panzer III (uparmoured) (8 pts)
Panzer III Tank Platoon (p.19) - 5x Panzer III (short 5cm) (25 pts)
Panzer IV Tank Platoon (p.25) - 3x Panzer IV (short 7.5cm) (18 pts)
Panzer III Tank Platoon (p.19) - 5x Panzer III (short 5cm) (25 pts)
Panzer II Light Tank Platoon (p.21) - 5x Panzer II (2cm) (10 pts)
Marder (7.62cm) Tank-Hunter Platoon (p.32) - 3x Marder (7.62cm) (12 pts)
Sd Kfz 221 & 222 Light Scout Troop (p.33) - 2x Sd Kfz 222 (2cm) & 1x Sd Kfz 221 (MG) (2 pts)

100 Points
