Hey guys,
I am a returning player and still quite new to the game. I usually play against my buddies Stormcast and up until now he kicked my butt big time. He usually plays a quite shooty list, leaning heavily on the vanguard wing, but he also had a stardrake that kinda healed itself through something that I do not really remember. The bloody beast almost slaughtered my whole army by itself. I've got the feeling that I really have no answers to both his shooting (snipers making Heroes basically useless) and heavy Armor (3+ or 4+ rerollable are tough).
If possible i'd like to to keep my army as footsloggy as possible but i've got the Impression that s not cutting the mustard.
My Last list was something like this:
Aspiring deathbringer
Bloodwarrior
Bloodsecrator
3 slaughterpriests + the batallion for rerolls

20 bloodreaver
25 bloodwarrior with axes
Korgorath
And maybe something else for 1500 Points.

Other stuff i have:
The Khorne half of the Starter Set, gorechosen, 3 mighty skullcrushers, ~25 Chaos Warriors, 1 Chariot, 2 gorebeast chariots, 10 Chaos Knights with glaives.
Is there something that I really lack or is it just bad tactics?

I would say your main problem vs a shooty list would be lack of speed.

A bloodstoker + WOK thirster combo can let you slingshot a unit in melee turn 1. I had some success with that vs SE with giant blobs of bloodletter. Was in a 3000 pts game so way heavier combo game.

Seems like you could also do with attention seekers. My last tournament list had 2 thirsters in it IR and WOK. If you play skarbrand, your opponent will have to focus everything he has on him or he is dead.

If you are wondering about your tactics it might be worth reading the articles on this site:
