Can anyone point me to a map of the paths of the various Space Marine Legions during the Great Crusade and then during the Horus Heresy? I’m looking for roughly which legions were in roughly which parts of the galaxy at various times so I can try to maintain some “historical accuracy” in a campaign my brother and I are starting.

I tried a query but didn’t find what I was hoping for. Thanks in advance!

The increasing picture is that at least small detachments from all legions where pretty much everywhere, aside from specific named planets (say, calth)

What warzone did you have in mind

The main forces involved so far are the White Scars and Death Guard, but we will also have the Sons of Horus and Imperial Fists as well as several militias, cults, Imperial Armies, etc. The Great Crusade games will feature Orks as the main xenos threat.

I was hoping to have a key part of the campaign take place on a planetary system that has been the setting for our 40k campaign. Same place, vastly different time and circumstances. In our 40k campaign, the Xhorik system was located in the galactic north-center, a bit "north" of Valhalla.

We picked the Legions that we liked best and then were pretty pleased to find out there is a rich history of interaction and relationships between the White Scars, Death Guard, and Sons of Horus, which I was hoping would allow us to tie the campaign into some historical events in the Crusade and Heresy. I haven't read much yet about the Imperial Fists and how they tie in with the other three. But our ultimate aim (after we have a lot more models and terrain painted) is to finish the campaign with the Siege of Terra using all four legions and all of our auxiliary forces.

So if anybody knows the direction of the main approach the Sons of Horus and Death Guard took to Terra, that would help. Or where Chondax is or where Jaghatai dueled with Mortarion. It is really hard to find a map with all of the major points of interest of the Heresy and the major mobilizations shown.

Id say you cant go wrong with the general setting being the segmentum ultima. Its so big all the Legions surely were active there.
