So guys it seems like my PS4 has taken upon its self to start ejecting discs at random all by its self. Has anyone come across this problem or no of a way to stop it.
I really don’t like to idea of forking out for a new console as it doesn’t get as much play time as it used too. Heard that it could be a heat build up causing an auto switch, something to do with the rubber foot on the bottom.

Or I guess the thing could be on it’s way out. Either way I really don’t like the idea of paying out a couple hundred quid for a new one, oh by the way it’s the original PS4 if that makes a difference.

Mines done this for about 2 years. Mines a launch PS4.

When I researched it, the most consistent cause I found was the rubber foot under the eject button. As the machine heats and cools, the rubber foot expands and contracts and eventually cracks the housing around the eject button, to the point where it starts causing it to be pressed as it heats and cools.

Mines at the point where it's a bluray/DVD/Netflix machine. Any game will generally eject the disc after an hour or two of play, occasionally much earlier, sometimes rarely is just won't. Even playing DVD's/blurays can cause it to eject if it's a hot day.

Yeah I’ve seen online about the rubber foot. Says to remove and also tighten up a screw that’s under the hdd cover.

Will grab a small driver from work and try that. Have removed the rubber foot and cleaned out any dust from under the cover, wondering if a build up of static was causing the eject to trip.

had the same issue and KillGorex's fix worked.
