Hey guys,

With all the IK hype I decided to give a try to painting a group of Men-at-Arms I will be using as CP batteries for my unique Knight Household.

I haven't decided if these guys will represent cheap guardsmen or scions, but I did enjoy painting them up with all the pageantry of mini knights. The shoulder details are decals touched up with paintbrush to hide the pixels at the scale.

More of these are on the way, but I wanted to get one guy out and ready to see what you thought of the style and color scheme.

Comments and suggestions welcomed. Cheers!

Love them. Really like the use of Vanguard heads and the muzzle burn looks real good, I have a hard time making it look good myself. Like the color scheme. If they are going to be IK Men-at-Arms I feel they should be Scions as I feel their personal warriors should be a cut above and the tempestus rules and abilities lend them to killing large enemies which fits with knights as well.

Very nice. If you're looking for advice I'd vote for them as Scions.

Maybe Empire Handgunners as the cannon fodder?

One of the best looking Imperial Guard figures I've seen. Superb kitbash, excellent colour, fantastic end result. Top notch stuff.

Sweet looking kitbash! altho, personally I think the paintscheme is a tad too close to the official tempestus one.

I really dig this. Am eager for more. The admech heads suit perfectly for IK aesthetic!

Thanks guys!

Yes, the color scheme is rather close to the original Scions, but the blue is a bit different in real life than photographed. It's actually closer to this:

I wanted an oceanic world based Knightly House, although essentially I arrived at a variant of the Space Wolf color scheme.

@KingGarland: The Muzzle burn. Yes this is something I find hard to do on smaller models like this and essentially I settled on doing a few bands of washes, diluted with Lamium medium. I start with Seraphin Sepia, then Reikland Fleshade, then Druchii Violet, then Guliman Blue. I then run the same washes again but backwards, starting with blue finishing on sepia, slightly overlapping the previous margins where the wash ended. Finally I wash the whole thing with diluted Nuln oil, washing towards the tip so that the "soot effect" builds up on the muzzle. This also helps to darken and blend the colors.

House Icon is in early stages of development but looks like this at the moment. (Forgive the quality)

Probably one of the best looking guard kitbashes I've seen to date, seriously. That looks incredible and is extremely well done. Everything from the decals to the freehand, and the kitbash/conversion is SO CLEAN. It doesn't look like a kitbash!

Amazing work. I can't wait to see an entire force painted up to this quality. It'll look absolutely jaw-dropping.

I agree, scions rules for these guys. They look too cool to be regular guardsmen.

Take it easy and thanks for sharing!

You don't know me son, so I'll explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

Thats a really cool look and awesome paintjob.
Great model to acompany your knightly house.

Personally I would like to see them as scions, mainly because its basicly just a scion with a headswap.
I would gladly play against them as guardsmen however(sounds expencive though )

Greetings Hive City Dweller, Fantastic work!

You have inspired me to take on a small project modeling miniatures to create Ad Mech/Scion mix up models.

I like the color scheme You chose for the model. Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks guys!

Sure thing, it's really easy actually:

1) Standard AM Scion
2) Replace head with Vanguard Skitarii head
3) Clip antenna on armor
4) clip power cable to rifle
5) (Trickiest bit) Cut the las rifle segment off between the main gun and the muzzle, and glue the muzzle back on. (Essentially cut off the black part of the rifle in the picture below)

6) Add grenades and satchels to taste from scion sprue.

Hope that helps!
