Should I just write in my books to show the changes? S
I just don't know how often they come out/update the rulebook FAQ's so pencil may not work well.

Good idea. You could maybe use masking tape to write on. If it gets faq'd away just rip that specific piece out.

Brutal, but kunning!

GW are planning on “big FAQs” every 6 months I believe.

You may struggle to fit in the replacement sentences in the space available, and there is the risk they’ll change their mind 6 months later.

I’ve been pondering typing out the rules completely, with the FAQs inserted in the correct sentences, and using it like the A5 versions of the rulebook from past editions (Quite a bit of work which I would obviously not be allowed to distribute).

Possibly you could use fold-out sheets taped to the right page?

I am certainly not writing in my collectors ed codexes. But I feel your pain.

Possibly take each page out and laminate them? A pain but you could change the writing as new updates come out?

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

I would just print them out, laminate them, and stick them in the back. You'll want to be able to remove them if they update the FAQs and one becomes obsolete. Also, just easier to hand them a stiff page to show them a rule change than go through the book. I wouldn't worry about making it overly complicated.

You could always tabulate the pages that have FAQs on them with a post it tab and stick a copy in the back of the book.

I use a highlighter on things that changed. and keep a printed sheet of FAQ's in the back of the book. nothing special, clean, and easy. It is what I did for chapter approved that changed points for weapons. highlighted the points that changed in the main codex, so I knew to look at the new points in the CA. made sense to me at least.

I've been annotating all my books with FAQ changes and common pointcosts I use, so I don't have to flip back and forth (oh, my common loadout for a chaos lord is 120pts. cool)

I find it very useful for keeping track of all the changes, as it's all there in your book and you don't need to track down twelve different documents. Actually meticulously writing down the changes also helps you memorize them, so you'll know your own rules better.

So far, I havn't had any trouble finding space in the margins, if you write small with a fine-tipped pen (like a micron from an art store). It's not like each FAQ updates every single entry each time they roll out. A few entries have their points costs adjusted up and down a few times now, but just cross out the previous and add the updated one.

Also add's some personality to your codex and makes it really yours!

When the indexes dropped I was neat and careful to sticky post the points costs onto the units.
, but that got real tedious after a while. When Chapter Approved came out I just wrote the points differences on the back in pen.

I tear off the sticky part of a sticky note and cut it into small pieces and then place those on the pages that have FAQ errata. That way, if I see a little piece of a sticky note on a page, I know to look it up in the errata, which I print and put in the back of the books.

The sticky note pieces stay on well, but peel off easily if I ever want/need to remove them.

I have no problems writing in my book. I’ll cross out and write the changes. For longer passages I’ll print it out in small type, cut that down and tape it to the relevant section.

The errata for 6th edition Warhammer were formatted so you could print them out and stick them into the rulebook over the corrected passage. Even the page background matched.
