The kids wanted to play another game so we had a throw down between Dwarfs and Vampires. We are still keeping things manageable at 1500pts.

Dwarfs:

Daemon Slayer
Thane
Runesmith
Warriors w/Great weapons (20)
Warriors w/shields (20)
Thunderers (10)
Ironbreakers (20)
Slayers (20)
Organ Gun




Vampires:

Vampire Lord
Necromancer
Wight
Banshee
Skeletons w/spears (30)
Skeletons w/spears (30)
Zombies (20)
Zombies (20)

Graveguard (20)
Black Knights (10)
Dire Wolves (10)
Fell Bats (4)




Set Up
Vampires go first!



Turn 1

The Undead move up and the Daemon Slayer strides forward. The Organ Gun rocks the Black Knights but they hang in there.



Turn 2

The Undead inch closer but the Dwarfs all but shut down the magic phase.



The Warriors by the Thunderers charge the Black Knights and reduce them to 1. The Slayers Destroy all but 1 Zombie. The Organ Gun and Thunderers peel off some skeletons.



Turn 3
The Vampire brings back some Black Knight only to lose them one to combat, otherwise magic is a bust. The Dire Wolves charge the Daemon Slayer to no help. The Warriors with Great Weapons charge the Skeletons to the right. The Slayers wipe out the last Zombie and turn their attentions to the Vampire.




The Ironbreakers charge into the Wolves wiping them out and over running into the Graveguard. The Warriors hack at the Black Knights and Skeletons, wining but not eliminating.



Turn 4

The Skeletons to the left charge the Thunderers and the Vampire managers to get the Black Knights back to a receptible level.



The Daemon Slayer charges the Skeletons to the right. Now you see them…



Now you don’t! Ok he didn’t do all the work, the Great Weapons did a fair amount.



The Daemon Slayer over runs into the Vampire!



By the end of the turn it isn’t looking good for the Undead. The Thunderers and Runesmith destroy the Skeletons leaving the Wight with 1 wound.



Turn 5
Finally, a decent magic phase. The Vampire and the Daemon Slayer suffer 2 wounds. Out of desperation to save the Vampire next turn the Fell Bats charge the Slayers. The Graveguard keep bouncing off the Ironbreakers. The Black Knights are stale mating with the Warriors. The Wight whiffs against the Thunderers and is cut down.



The Vampire kills off the Daemon Slayer. The Great Weapons charge and kill the Necromancer and over run to the Zombies. The Thunderers his the Black Knights in the flank tipping the balance in that combat.


Turn 6
The Vampire charges the Organ Gun but only managers to kill 1 crew.



The Slayers pull off a stunning charge and hit the Vampire in the back. He kills a few but the Slayers pounce on him like a pack of dogs on a 3-legged cat! The Warriors/Thunderers finish off the Black Knights. The Great Weapons cut down more Zombies and the Ironbreakers beat up on more Graveguard.



DWARVEN VICTORY!


The Undead certainly didn’t have much punch this time around. There were several abysmal magic phases and the Dwarfs were rockin the Perry Saves, we had fun though. I am hoping the next time we can get either Dark Elves or Chaos Dwarfs on the table. It might be a while before the next fantasy write up, the kids are itching for some 40K.
