With the knights being revitalized, I thought I would break out my Knight and add a couple friends to support my armor company.

Battalion - scions
Tempest prime - rod - warlord - grand strategist and kurovs aquila
Tempest prime - plasma pistol

Scions - plasma pistol, 2 plasma
Scions - plasma pistol, 2 plasma
Scions -plasma pistol, hotshot volley guns

Taurox prime - gatling, hotshot volley guns

Spearhead - tallarn
Tank cc - punisher - 3 heavy bolter

Fast - artemia hellhound

Elite - 2x astropath

Heavy
Leman Russ conqueror - 3x heavy bolter
Leman Russ conqueror - 3x heavy bolter
2x sentinel power lifters

Super heavy det - house hawkshroud
Knight crusader - Gatling + thermal cannon. -exalted court strat- ion bulwark
Armiger warglaive -meltagun
Armiger warglaive -meltagun

Thought this would play well, be fun and be able to hold ground against a wide variety of lists.

How to improve? Am I doing anything illegal?

The idea behind this list is the knights are there to escort the tanks along. They provide a bit of close combat prowess for anything that gets through the walls of bullets. And these knights are durable and don't degrade easily. Further, their counter charge is a nice deterrent with a strategm.

Overall I will have 9 CP with two spent from the beginning.

Have the standard HQ guard trait and relic to fuel the knights and tanks.

Then 1 pt spent on giving my crusader a warlord trait ... Which makes his shield a 4++ against shooting.

Debating if the astropaths are worth or should I swap in some tech priests.

First off, don’t add in a tech priest, if you are staying Hawkshroud – They can only repair Mechanicus Knights for 1 wound a turn.
That said, the Astropaths aren’t really doing much for you either. It might be worth dropping them both and adding a Lascannon to both Conqueror and the Tank Commander.

Are the Armigers Warglaives or Helverins?

Certainly an interesting list that will be frustrating to remove – but you will need to be careful of fast moving combat units.

I get the synergy of your detachments and I like the units you’ve chosen- ALL very efficient. I’m just wondering if you could squeeze more out of this.
I run Tallarn as well, and they are great for fast movement. If you exchanged your more expensive Scions and made two Tallarn battalions, then you could invest 3 CP into the Ambush Stratagem and the Dagger, allowing you to outflank 5 units. You could outflank the Conquerors as a unit (which would help with the 24” reroll if they’re not having to risk moving up the field into range) and perhaps a Command Squad or two full of plasma with a CO giving re-roll orders.
That would leave your Knights only having to escort the Tank CO and the Artemia HH. I’d have the Powerlifters trailing for counterattack purposes. You’d also have regular Infantry Squads for holding objectives.

Summary of changes:

- 2x astropaths
- plasma pistol on tempest prime
+ Changed a unit of scions to a 10 man squad w/ no upgrades to ride in the taurox
+ Plasma pistols on scions sgts with plasma guns in their squads
+ Stormbolter pintle on the 3 leman Russ
+ Stormbolter on taurox prime
Note: Meltaguns are on Armiger Warglaives

Scion detachment looks like.
- Prime w/ staff (deepstrike near plasma units)
- prime with hotshot Las pistol (deepstrike near stock scions for frfsrf)
- 5 scions - plasma pistol 2x plasma gun
- 5 scions - plasma pistol 2x plasma gun
- 10 scions - stock (ride in prime)
- taurox prime - Gatling, hotshot volley, storm bolter

I played the above list against a local catachan player with a Russ heavy list. It did really well.

As for the previous poster... Here is a list I was tinkering with instead... With the imperial Knight faq...

1997/2000
12cp
Tallarn Battalion
Company CC - outflank?
Company CC -warlord cp gatherer
3x infantry squads w/ mortars

Tallarn Vanguard
Tank commander punisher - 3x heavy bolter, stormbolter
3x special weapons teams - 3x plasma guns each(outflank?)
2x Arteima hellhound (outflank?)
2x conqueror - 3 heavy bolter, storm bolters (outflank?)
3x sentinel powerlifter (would need to convert a third)

Knight Lance - hawkshroud
Crusader - avenger, thermal, stubber- ion shield
2x Armiger Warglaives - melta guns

This gives:
a more economic outflank with plasma guns
Infantry for back field
More Mobile and fast units
More assault
More flamer
And now with the FAQ I have 3 more cp

I like the list, it will have more punching power and faster with the outflank capability.

My suggestions-
give the Dagger to your outflank Company CC, accompanied by the 3 SWS with plasmas. He can then give reroll orders to 2 of them (or all 3 with the Inspired Tactics stratagem) Since you can only take one vehicle unit with the Ambush stratagem, I would outflank the Artemia Hellhounds... the Conquerors and your Tank Commander all want to be in 24” range so I’d take them all together with your scary Knight escorts...of course against some lists it may be better to outflank the Conquerors.

Fun little trick if you ever need it- being Questoris Imperialis you can use the Sally Forth! stratagem for 3CP to outflank one of your Knights - so for example, you could outflank your Crusader and have it’s Thermal Cannons already at half range for the added lulz

I am huge on outflanking, in my normal go-to list I have 18 drops and outflank 9 of them.

I figured this would give me the flexibility I would like to outflank as needed. Prob won't do all of them at the same time. However, I think I may change that crusader over to a Warden. Would like something that can flex and can take on something big n Scarry in close combat.

Also... Is hawkshroud the most optinal knights household for this?

I think I’d leave it as a Crusader- you need as much firepower as possible to get rid of all the big hitters that are going to be trying to take you out. Any Knight escorting all those tanks is going to be the biggest target on the field. You have your Titanic feet to help you deal with anything that comes close, plus you should have the Sentinels in support- if your Knight or tanks get assaulted I’d rush the Sentinels in and use the Crush Them stratagem to hit on 2+.

I think Hawkshroud is your best Household for this setup- 1. It’s Imperium so you can always use the outflank stratagem on one of your Armigers if you want; 2. Your stats will take twice as long to degrade due to their traditions; and 3. Since your plan is to protect the tanks, the Hawkshroud stratagem Staunch Allies allows you to act as a character and do a heroic intervention if one of your tanks / units within 12” gets charged- that’s a nice deterrent to have.

Of course this is all CP intensive so save up those CPs. Be sure to give your AM Warlord the Grand Strategist trait and take Kurov’s Aquila on him too.

Wasn't crazy about the powerlifters. They were... Okay. Also found that bringing a commander with the 3x special weapons squads was way too command points intensive. So... New lineup.

Tallarn + hawkshroud still.
Battalion
Commander
Commander
3x infantry squad
2x special weapons -3x plasma
Astropath - nightshroud (good for ignore cover/tank cc survivability)

Spearhead
Tank cc, punisher, 3x heavy bolter

2x artemia hellhound

Russ conqueror 3x heavy bolter
Russ conqueror 3x heavy bolter
Russ executioner 2x plasma cannon, 1 heavy bolter

Super heavy
Crusader
Warglaive
Warglaive

As much as I like PowerLifters I don’t use them for two reasons- no shooting, and to use to best effect costs CPs.

In my lists I use 3 command squads of plasmas... I do use a CP for the Inspired Tactics stratagem on the turn I bring them on so that all 3 units are shooting to full effect - by the next turn usually 1 to 2 of those are killed off, so it’s not an issue after that first shooting round.

That’s a lot of plasma coming off the Executioner, do you plan on giving it Orders to avoid overheating, or are you planning not to supercharge your shots?

Depends on target. But yes that's the plan. That's on a g 11 plasma shots a turn from the Russ. 12 more from guardsmen.

I think it’s a well rounded list. I’m sure it’ll do well even in tourneys.
