Hello,

I just bought and started to paint my Dark Reapers and I'd like to learn more about them after reading their entry in the codex and rereading pretty much the same stuff on wiki pages.

I'm painting mine like the box (though with some more bone colored areas) with the red weapons and I believe that's the Last Midnight Shrine color scheme, but there's no additional information I can find about them. I guess I'm just interesting in any information about the Dark Reapers that aren't included in the 8th edition book.

Pictures of other people's Dark Reapers are more than welcome!

The 7th edition codex has details and color schemes on other shrines. My few Dark Reapers are painted in the colors of the Jade Scythe (sickle?). I don't have it with me right now, or an uploaded image, so hopefully others might have ideas. If I find my 7th codex I'll get you more information. Jade Scythe is black with deep green/jade weapons, and red or purple accents.

I have like 5 Chaos Codexes and I love the older ones because they're filled with so much more detailed information for the lore. Do you think the 7th edition Eldar codex is something that might be worth purchasing? What about even earlier, like 5th or 6th?

I found my 8th ed. Chaos codex to be a little bland and I'm just guessing the others are, too.

Have you considered designing your own shrine?

Example: Bone armor and black weapons of the Shrine of the Silent Damned

Here's an image of my Dark Reapers of the Jade Scythe Shrine. I swapped the main red and sub purple colors, but the rest fits. I used a spare vehicle Eldar Missile Launcher as the Exarch's weapon. These are old metal models, and it was a pain to saw through and even out/greenstuff the weapon into place:

I found the 8th Craftworld codex to be bland as well. The 7th edition has many descriptions of shrines, example paint schemes both on actual miniatures and via a sort of front-view army-painter, and in general actually interesting lore. I frequently reference it while working on my Eldar, while the 8th codex has next to nothing visually worth referencing. I have all the other Eldar codex editions, and apart from one or two images none of them compare for reference use to the 7th.

Apologies on the late reply. I thought I subscribed to the thread, but must not have.
