Hello to everyone. I'm new in this forum and i would start a new army like minotaurs. I've already paint a minotaur scout with the advices of Warhammer tv, but i don't like the final result. I see on web some images of a scheme that i really love and want to reproduce on my models. Can anyone help me to find colours and methods used ?

See those images look like Copper to me. Bronze is a little redder especially in the recesses.

If I was going to do this color scheme, I would start with Balthazar Gold and drybrush with Auric Armor Gold to get to a bright finish. Then I would mix the Auric Armor Gold with some silver for highlights, and do some pin washes with a mix of black and red inks for the rest.

I've succesed to see what colours he had used. Warplock bronze as base, runelord brass as a zenithial highlight, then p3 armour wash with agrax earthshade. Then board highlight with a silver and runelord and finally a extreme highlight with silver. I noticed that the models has a green shade in the recesses and in various forum suggest to use lightly purple shade to evocate more the image of minotaurs ' armour

Okay, so I found that if you put down a brass paint, then wash with Agrax Earthshade THEN Druchii Violet, you get this effect:

It darkens the brass and gives extra recess shading, turning it closer to bronze.

I quite like the results Duncan has in this tutorial...

I tried to paint beginning with brass scorpioni then highlight with runelord brass. Here comes the problem cause citadel layer are too shaded and don't cover the precedent step.. how can i resolve this problem? Some people suggested me to buy vallejo air colour but i want to use citadel paint

Two (or more) thin coats. There's not a lot else to do at that point.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

This is a typical problem with all metallic paints, the 'pigment' is coarser than normal paints, so it doesn't generally cover other metallic paints well without laying it on thick. You've got a couple options:

1.) Choose a brighter metallic paint for highlights than brass over brass. If you do gold over brass, it will stand out more
2.) Darken the initial brass coat with a wash so that the lighter brass highlights will stand out more. With the right wash, you could even use the original color as a highlight.

Thanks for the answers. I was thinking that maybe for these metallic colours is better to use a heavy drybrush than classic highlight like di others layers

It depends on the miniature, really. Anything with ornate detail will work well with a drybrush, but smooth armor like Primaris Space Marines might not work as well, depending on your level of experience with drybrushing. Really, if I was going to do Minotaurs, I'd use Duncan's method - Balthazar Gold with a Druchii Violet wash, then use Agrax Earthshade only in the crevices and edge highlight with Balthazar Gold.

I did a lot of test painting with Gold and washes back when I started doing my Knights of Gryphonne project https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/745329.page trying to get metallic orange from gold and washes before I actually got a hold of a metallic orange paint from Reaper. The method is the same, even if the color use is different. It's a simple basecoat, wash, followed by a darker wash in the joints (only the joints) and an edge highlight of the original color.

Easier to pull off if you have an airbrush, as the smoother the coat, the better, but if you take care to do several thin coats of the metallic base, it should work just fine.

You can also mix your paints into in between layers. This will improve your transitions too.

A quick question. I've found solution of how to make bronze power armour but I don't know how to make bronze vehicle. What do you suggest to paint drop pod for example?

Let’s remember what bronze IS. It’s an alloy of copper and tin.

So, what that leads to is a desaturated copper appearance when clean and new—so it’s coppery but with a more yellowish hue. Depends on the amount of tin really.

Next, as it ages, it oxidizes. Copper of course has the classic green oxidation we all know and love (nihilac oxide), so this will be the normal corrosion color you’d see if it was just pure copper and tin. Tin resists corrosion by the way, so bronze will generally corrode less than copper.

Other elements are added either on purpose or accidentally for other bronze finishes. We often associate bronze with a deep metallic brown color as seen in ancient statues, and I think potassium or sulphur causes this but I’m not sure.

When you examine old bronze closely what I often find is that it’s a rich deep brown color in the recesses, but with a very slight green tint if you’re looking for it.

To achieve this you might try Balthasar Gold shaded with MOSTLY agrax earth shade and just a teeny bit of nihilac oxide mixed in. Or maybe a very thinned recess shade of nihilac oxide followed by an all over shade of agrax. Then do a highlight of a bronze color of your choice to get the hue you want. Depends on how old you want it to look, or what bronze alloy you’re trying to reproduce.

Bronze is a metal that can actually have some different looks to it. Just find some pictures of different bronze objects and play around with your bases and shades.
