Anybody know where to find some good examples or inspiration for battlefields? Google comes up with lots of nice individual terrain pieces or the other end of the spectrum is the giant forgeworld dioramas.
Would just like to see some nice playable gaming tables and ideas for a balanced layout of terrain? Hope that makes sense.

Pinterest has some really impressive stuff, although a lot of it is so sophisticated as to be nearly unattainable. But you did say inspiration...

Ha yeh, i know what you mean. I was looking for something a step below the incredible. I'm actually struggling a bit with how to layout terrain in interesting ways and what type of terrain I need more of. Some of the YouTube battle reports are a nice inspiration. I'm talking the sort of boards you could feasibly game on not exhibition pieces...

There are some very inspiring tables on YouTube: check Winters SEO, StrikingScorpion82, MoarHammer or Guerilla Miniature Games for example. Though as a personal caveat, I feel many of their games are still played on too sparse terrain. If you can see the table or draw an unobscured line longer than 30" at some part of the play area, you're doing it wrong in my eyes

There is also a "post a pic of the last game you played" thread in Dakka Discussions, where the above caveat also applies most of the time. But that's how inspiration works, just roll around until you find something that catches your imagination.
