What does the web way portal do? And does it add anything to drukhari? I am thinking of the building.

Its a building that allows your guys to come into the battlefield from reserves. But its like 160 points or so. Also, when they come out of it, they still have to be mroe than 9" away from the enemy. So your opponent can surround it to neutralize it. Also, if your opponent destroys the portal, all units in the webway that were using it are destroyed.

It looks super cool, but you are probably better off just using a CP or two to webway portal anywhere on the battlefield.

It costs a bunch of points to do something your army does for free with a stratagem, except worse.

After all the googling I did it seems like the Webway gate can be summed up like this: Very nice looking and absolutely useless.

It's a very pretty terrain piece for not that much money. Just pretend it doesn't have any rules.

Or good for fluff games or custom missions. Narrative play could be fun to mess around with using the rules as they stand.

One option is to keep it in your deployment zone to make it hard for the enemy to surround it. And then bring on a unit to prevent it from being alpha-striked. It saves your CP for other things and just uses up points instead.

Or if you have harlequins, they can use the portal and a strategem to deploy within either 1" or 3" of an enemy. So the portal right now is best used with Harlequins because they can essentially get out and charge right away at much lower risk.

Money vice it is not that expensive. And it looks good.

Oh it’s a beautiful model. This is just the tactics forum and the best tactic for the Webway portal is not to use it.
