Subject: Upsizing bases?

So, I have a load of Eldar miniatures to paint, will likely end up selling them on eBay as I don't have much need for them myself.
Some of them I feel would look better on 32mm bases rather than the 25mm they were originally supplied with, main examples being the Phoenix Lords, Autarch with hawk wings etc.
Question though, is how it would affect them game wise? I haven't played 40k for about 7 years so I'm not sure if there is any advantage or drawback for using larger/smaller bases than supplied?
As I will eventually sell them I wouldn't want to do anything that would put people off buying.
Just to put it out there, I'm not really looking for "your models, do what you think looks good" kind of replies.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

There are some advantages and some disadvantages to larger bases concerning auras, squeezing through/blocking gaps, area denial, base contacting, etc.
It shouldn't be a problem and generally looks better.

Generally, the rules for playing in tournaments state that you have to use the base that the model comes supplied with. For friendly games it probably doesn't matter.

In theory, you should use the base size that the model came with. In practice, as long as you aren't taking the piss, most people won't even notice.
I tend to put characters on one base size up from basic troops, to help them stand out a little - so my Nurgle Herald is on a 32mm base next to Plaguebearers on 25mm bases, and my Malignant Plaguecaster is on a 40mm base next to Plague Marines on 32mm bases. It's a subtle but noticeable way to emphasise them, and tends to work well with more "heroic" poses.

stick them on a 25mm thin disc, metal is good, then take a 32mm, stick a small magnet in it - can sit on the 32mm (or 40mm if desired) normally, but can clearly see the 25mm or use it when it occasionally matters

Thanks for the input all.
I'll probably just go 32mm on the characters, as the difference is negligible.
I've already done it with Feugan last year and think it looks way better on 32mm. Thanks tho for all the suggestions.
