Love that we get that shadow sword but kinda bummed we don't get the banesword. The two most fluffy baneblades in DKK are the shadow sword and banesword. I'm not too bothered about the rules really, more the fluff. Whats everyone's favourite baneblade then? Shadowsword for me.

DKK only have the index, they didn't have any baneblades until the FAQ.

No I mean the regular index. Can't they use that for the supers?

You can use a Banebalde in a DKK army. It's in the FAQ, along with a bunch of other vehicals added to the DKK army.

You can use a baneblade you can't use a banesword.

I don't think any reasonably minded opponents will mind........good luck finding one though XD

You can use any of the Baneblade-class tanks you want. Aside from taking multiple detachments (which you should do anyway, so your LoW gets a relevant doctrine buff) you can take any unit with the IG keyword in a DKoK detachment, you just won't get to apply the DKoK keyword to any unit that isn't on the list. But since DKoK only give bonuses to infantry/cavalry models (good job FW not bothering to update the rules post-codex) this has zero effect.

And fluff-wise, since this is the fluff section, DKoK could use any tanks they can get their hands on. Everything with a gun is useful in a war of attrition.

The list in the Index is a Death Korps Siege regiment, is it not? You can use Codex: Imperial Guard to represent other Krieg regimental types (armoured and super-heavy regiments are shown to exist; I'm sure there are others too). Take any super-heavy tank you like in a separate detachment, paint it the same colours as the rest of your army, off you go.

That's not the point though, when they index's go so will being able to do that, plus that's the same as allying. If I ally with space marines I can't just waste points on another HQ just to take another detachment. But its the fluff I'm talking about.

No they can't. Certain regiments are bound by their closest forgeworld. DKK for instance closet forgeworld specialise in warhound titans and therefore the baneblades they make are titan killers, like the shadowsword or the banesword, they can requisition any tank they want from any forgeworld but the vast majority of the time a regiment can only have what they have access to.
