Just actually started assembling my Khorne Bloodbound from the original core set. Really like the models. But since magic and summoning are going to be such a big part of AoS 2nd Edition, it seems smart to run wizards and reinforcements. But, since Khorne hates magic, wouldn’t using wizards cast spells or to summon units in a Khorne army be against the fluff?

Thanks in advance

Khorne uses blood tithe points to summon and has priests for "spells" what you lack in casting power quite a few of your heroes are good at dispelling magic.

Well first off Khorne can summon using blood tithe come the new edition. Secondly, it isn't uncommon for Khorne warlords to keep wizards around for support or specific rituals even if they hate them and plan to kill them as soon as they cease being useful. The wizards usually view the Khornies as stupid brutes that are easily manipulated. Sometimes one side is right, sometimes it's the other.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Khorne does not hate magic, he just hates wizards that are cowards that fight with "tricks" and from afar.

Khorne "prayers" are just magic. Khorne uses the same "warp power" than other Chaos Gods use to make their magic. The difference is the way they use it.

Khorne wouldn't give his power to a coward, or someone trying to fight from afar, but for somebody that ask him for strenght to destroy his enemies in meele and direct combat? Thats very common.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

That'd make for an interesting wizard, I imagine the Silver Tower wizard monster would be a natural fit for a combat mage.

I think the rest might be too squishy. Though the mounted Slaves to Darkness one might work.

Okay. Now I really want a Khornate melee mage.

2000 Khorne Bloodbound (Skullfiend Tribe- Aqshy)
1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress
2000 Slaves to Darkness (Ravagers)

Slaugtherpriests are basically Khornate meele mages. Just like in the old fantasy, Sigmar's priest where using magic (Something Teclis pointed out to Magnus the Pious when he founded the schools of magic) but in a different way, more to support them and their allies and fight in meele. Like a WoW paladin vs a Priest.

In the novels, Khorne generals bully wizards or witches into their service if they think that their skills in the long (or short) run will outweight the discontent in the ranks and the possibility of angering Khorne.

Gaunt summoner can summon bloodletters so he seems like a pretty good ally. Khorne wasn't ever really opposed to Tzeentch. He hates Slaanesh.
