Yeah so I figured with a new edition and all the buzz around Sigmar 2.0 being so close it might be worth throwing up a thread to see who is starting up a new army; or restarting an old one. What plans you got; what models you getting, what you hoping to do with your armies etc....??

Myself I've had a soft spot for Elves/Aelves for ages and leaped in when Daughters of Khaine were released and I've been steadily collecting bits of an army here and there. Half wanting to hold out on them releasing some kind of new boxed set with discount on the witch aelves; though I've been jumping on every Blood Covern boxed set I can afford (got two so far and hope to get a couple more eventually).

It wasn't originally meant to take this long, but I've been slowly working on a Daughters of Khaine army since their Battletome dropped. (Significantly delayed due to that months-long period where the one kit with all their leaders was out of stock!)

Should probably be ready to field a week or two after AoS2 drops, though the points changes means I'm rethinking the entire list- funnily enough I usually stagnate with an army because I'm reluctant to buy extra models after building to a carefully chosen list, GW pushed me over that threshold by accident this time.

May work on a Legions of Nagash (aka Grand Alliance Death) army because of the new summoning rules. Seems like it could be fun.

The wife and I did pretty well recently with a few things, and our reward was already going to be buying something for ourselves. That ended up being new AoS armies once it was clear AoS 2nd Ed. was garnering a lot more attention and play around here.

She likewise bought a mountain of Daughters of Khaine, but sadly we only got one Cauldron of Blood as they're IMPOSSIBLE to find around here, or on Ebay for that matter.

I ended up splitting my share to completely rebuild my undead into a proper Legions of Nagash army, and my Order/Dwarves got a pile of Fyreslayer friends.

The only real problem now is hobby paralysis. Wife is trucking away and has already built 90 Witch Aelves, 30 Sisters of Slaughter, 20 Khinerai Lifetakers, and Morathi, but i'm just being grossly inefficient and keep fluctuating between building one Dwarf thing, painting on Undead thing, etc.... meaning i'm kind of getting nowhere. :-p

I'm building a pirate/naval themed mixed Order force. I'm making a homage unit to Long Drong Pirate Slayers that'll count as arkanaught company. And then a bunch of other naval themed units or monsters.

I'm from the future. The future of space

A Malign Sorcery army with wizards and endless spells everywhere. Going to be order based because that's what I've been building through skirmish gaming with different factions. Should probably be Tzeentch based, but I'm okay if it's not as good as it's what I have.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I started a Slaves to Darkness army that is now transitioning into full on Maggotkin. Then I started an Ogre army that will eventually pick up some other Destruction buddies so I have two full armies I can force my friends to play with.

I chose Daughters of Khaine.
Won a Cauldron on eBay the other day and now I'm waiting on my canary ladies and some reaper proxies for leaders to arrive tomorrow. I think my snake ladies and Warlocks will be shipped out today.

It's a bit rough as all the leaders are in the cauldron set.
GW really needs to get back on track asap.

It's bloody tempting. Those new ghosts...

Starter set to get my son into it... Hmm...

But then I do still have half a CSM army to paint, a DE army to paint, a Necromunda box set to paint, an old Space Crusade box to paint...

So a Sylvaneth army then eh?

For me I wanted to start Night Haunts to go with the Start Collecting Maligants if they go together. Sadly life events happened and I really can't start a new army. So I will just finish with the minis I have.

Not a new army entirely, but I'm giving Warherd a solid try this edition. With the points reduction, I can squeeze a few more goodies into the list and hopefully be a little less one dimensional. Just gotta finish touching up and rebasing them, hopefully have that done this week and they'll be ready to go for launch.

Not expecting to wreck face every game, but I'm definitely looking forward to using them!

With the release of 2nd edition I have decided to try and get back into AoS. I had thought about Seraphon but I've instead decided that I want a more traditional undead army. I've got a resin version of the old Heinrich Kemmler (the Lichemaster) to be my Necormancer general, a wight king with axe (Kell) and the Deathrattle Barrow Lords box, with the plan of running a Legion of the Barrows style army.

My first AoS army will be Nighthaunt - not only are they cheap to jump into, I love the models and what I've seen from their rules so far. They're the new hotness, so I'm sure there will be a lot of NH v NH battles in my local area for awhile, but I'll stick with it for a bit as the new sweet kits come out.

During that time I am fully committed to slowly putting together a Daughters of Khaine army. I have a 2k list on my mind using a ton of models I really like so I'm zeroed in on that goal. Basically, NH first because they'll get me a playable force that I like the look of, then DoK when I'm more comfortable with the game and can focus the hobby time on them.

If Slaanesh gets a rework that overhauls the aesthetic and makes them not hideous, then I might get on that train.

They are not what I'd call hideous, but there is room for improvement. Honestly Slannesh needs a big release and its hoped that its the next chaos army to get a big release. Chances are with a big turn of events in the Sigmar Time-line too considering how Slannesh is currently captured and held prisoner.

I can well see a major campaign to his release whilst Stormcast and Undead fight over souls.

I've always had a soft spot for skellingtons, and i've got a start to some with ten of those old easy build spear guys that i picked up... so i guess that's deathrattle?

Or probably just a death army because my army will need necromancers. Gotta have necromancer with skeletons. It's the law.

One thing i do not want is any huge figures for this army. rank and file skeletons are what i love.

I'm going to start a Sylvaneth army that may ally with Deepkin if that's possible. The Sylvaneth are there because I'm basically a twig and angry tree people appeal to me because of that, and the Deepkin are just because they look really cool.

If I don't do that, then I'll probably go for a Death army with bits of Deathrattle and Nighthaunt thrown in. I'd say it's Legions of Nagash, but I'm not entirely sure how the Deathrattle and Nighthaunt portions would interact under that.
