Okay, I thought there was a clarification that the command point re-roll strategem meant you re-rolled both dice for rolls in which the dice were added together. However I have now watched multiple battle reports where the players are choosing to keep one die (say on a charge roll or psychic test) and re-roll only 1. Is this the correct way? I just went through the CRB FAQ, the Designers commentary, and chapter approved and somehow missed the rules or faqs clarifying. Someone help me out. (PS: I searched this forum already, we know the search function weakness...it failed me.)

You are mistaken in remembering that clarification. The errata was for normal re-rolls, not for the Stratagem. The stratagem always has just re-rolled one single dice, even of a multi-dice batch. What you can't do anymore (that differs from previous editions iirc) is if you have a normal re-roll effect, say being able to re-roll charge distance, you must re-roll both the dice with that effect, not just some of the dice.
