Hey all,

I know the assassins got a shiny new Vanguard detachment, but can I still spend a command point and legally bring a single Culexus as an auxiliary detachment?

If I do, army my k ights, off in their own detachment still battleforged?

I've got different people giving me different views so I thought I'd ask here

Yes, you can still take an Assassin in an Auxiliary Support Detachment. This has not changed, even with the Battle Brothers Beta Rule. What you can't do anymore is just include an Assassin on it's own in a detachment with other IMPERIUM units, they have to be isolated in their own detachment, although it doesn't matter what type it is.

In matched play, you essentially have the following options: Take 3-6 Assassins in a Vanguard Detachment for 0 CP; or take 1 Assassin in an Auxiliary Support Detachment for -1CP.

Agreed

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

Much obliged.
