Sharing is caring. This will be the map campaign my group will be doing this fall. Hoping to have some battle reports again.

Vigo. Spain.

Man this is so cool. I hope to start a mini version of this system this winter! If it end up working I'll tell you about it!

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I demand you stop being so epic! There's not enough to go around for the rest of us.

Seriously though, the whole thing looks amazing and I really love the realm rule inclusions. Gonna be sharing this with a lot of people.

Thanks. This is why I play I love doing campaigns.

I did alter the sudden death rule last night (it was uploaded last night too on the link I shared above) so that if you do 20 or more mortal wounds in a turn that your opponent can pull a sudden death victory condition card in lieu of the lord kroak 105 wounds in a turn nonsense we saw happen over the weekend and trying to codify a more casual approach rather than a list-building victory.

However groups are of course free to do as they will

We're at 18 players for this currently. I've divided them into three factions:

Order -> currently two Bretonnians (using my Deus Vult tome), two stormcast, sylvaneth, and a fyre slayer army.

Death -> seven nighthaunt players following Nagash's whims.

Chaos and Destruction combined -> two nurgle, a tzeentch, an iron jaws, and an ogre.

We will be meeting sep 1st for the rules rundown and then begin movements on the map. Cycles run every two weeks, and when contact is achieved on the map games will be scheduled.

Each faction has a team captain that will get who is available and report to me and I will assign the battles.

Narrative bonus: players that contribute a 500 word report or blurb get a bonus command point. Players that contribute 1000 or more words will also get a bonus artifact in their next game.

29 players. Turn 1 is going down now.

Order and Chaos fighting in the Plains of Blood. As of today Order is holding a major victory over the chaos faction but we have a lot of games to go.

Hey auticus.
We're about to reset our Firestorm campaign as a few new players want to join in and frankly, the rules out of the box are a bit disappointing when actually played for a time. I knew you made an advanced version and I will be using some of your ideas (or all).

A few questions though:

How do you handle armies without a Path to Glory ruleset for upgrades, e.g. your ogre player?

Domain item upgrades keep the bonus of the previous version, right?

How do the upgrades work? One unit or hero after a battle, 2 units/heroes after a won battle - but how do Barracks and War Lodges factor into this?

How do you keep track of all the built domain items?

How do you handle more than 4 players? Do they share a banner and therefore share the points when fighting a battle?

Those are some good questions.

Armies without upgrade options? - if none exist I'd write upgrades for that player. We did not encounter that though, but I wrote Deus Vult for the bretonnian and historical players in my group.

*domain item upgrades - if it doesn't state an override in my document then yes that is a good assumption.

*how do upgrades work - you roll them up. You MUST have a barracks or war lodge to have the upgrade abiliity (p.13 of the document). So if you have no barracks or war lodge, you cannot upgrade any unit or leaders.

* how did I keep track of the domain items? I had a spreadsheet that I shared with our group that had each territory broken down by its items.

* How did I handle more than 4 players? We had 27. I had three factions and put those players into factions.

I did this because historically map campaigns are a hassle when people start dropping out and locking the map up. This way the factions act as a single player, with the multiple players within making choices for that faction via group vote and then playing a series of games that all counted toward that factoin's overall win/loss.

Ex: if I have 8 people in faction A and 8 people in faction B, then for a battle I'd ask who was available for those two weeks and then set up battles.

The faction that won the most battles won that round.
