Hi guys, these are my proposed rules for bringing the Pariahs back.

Spoiler:
Necron Pariah

Elite – 90pts (including weapon)

M - WS - BS - S - T - W - A - Ld - Sv
6” - 3+ -- 3+ -- 5 -- 5 - 5 -- 4 - 10 -- 3+

A Necron Pariah is a single model armed with a Warscythe with built-in Gauss Blaster.

Abilities:

Living Metal

Soulless
Any enemy unit within 6” of a Pariah suffers -2 to its Leadership characteristic. Additionally, a Pariah passes any leadership test it is forced to make automatically.

Pariah Gene
This model may never be targeted or affected by psychic powers in any way.

Cybotic Creation
A Pariah may never be chosen as your Warlord, nor may it take any Artefact of the Aeons.

Psychic Abomination
This model may attempt to deny up to two psychic powers in each enemy psychic phase in the same manner as a Psyker, adding +1 to its roll. Additionally, no psychic powers of any kind may be used by a model within 12” of a Pariah.

Faction Keywords
Necrons, <Dynasty>

Keywords
Character, Infantry, Pariah

On the tabletop, the models would look similar to the previous ones, but larger/taller. They’d be on 40mm bases and be somewhere between a Necron Overlord and Guilliman in height and bulk.

The rule of three would stop anyone from being able to spam them which is good.

This is my only attempt at ever writing rules, so I don't know how balanced the stats or rules or points costs are. Please feel free to throw ideas around.

Pariah's have been retconned. They are never coming back. As far as I know, GW have never reversed a retcon decision.

That being said. I absolutely love the idea behind the necron Pariah, and kind of salty at GW from turning the necrons from: zombie, space robot, remnants of an ancient civilization so advanced that they defeated the old ones, and who hate all other life so much they cleanse planets down to the bacteria. Into: egyptian space robots, who tricked super powerful beings into defeating the old ones for them and then backstabbed + enslaved them.

Perhaps it would be better to just make them a Lychguard upgrade eg:

Pariah: 1CP - Use this Strategem before the first turn of the game. One unit of Lychguard with Warscythes gain the Soulless and Pariah Gene rules.

Could also make a Special Character not aligned to a particular Dynasty.

To be fair I originally had them at toughness 6 and 5 attacks, but forgot to adjust the points when I toned them down a bit. Maybe 70 points? Bare in mind it includes the weapon which is worth about 15p

Well you could work with the new fluff, Since the retcon most necrons are trying to return to the flesh the new pariahs could be a step in the evolution back to organic bodies, a heavily augmented humanoid with no soul capable of accommodating a necron consciousness. Not the final result but certainly proof of concept.

As for the strength of the rules you could modify them to be a HQ option representing an overlord who was transferred to a superior form (Although not quite as resilient, possibly remove living metal from him) the thing is though I think you would have to modify or add other units/dynasty abilities to synergies with the leadership reduction ability.

I guess I'm holding onto the old fluff (like a lot of Necron players, I dislike the retcon greatly) but I still think they could work in their own right in the new fluff. The result of certain Crypteks experimenting on untouchable humans... it basically writes itself
