Looking to get back into AoS. Was never a serious player and many of the basics of list building escape me.

This is meant to be a list I think I'll enjoy the play style of and as a sort of buying guide to get into a new faction.

No idea if it's even viable

For my experience thralls can become pretty scary and I like Mor'phann too.
What I can say is that reavers generally are not top tier in our army. They are wonderful models though, so the plan for me is to paint and field them anyways but just one unit of 10.

I'm not sure about Battalions in 1000pts army. I'd prefer more units, but it's a choice. The respawning-style army is something a like too.

If you drop the tidecaster and the endless spell you can keep the Battalion and add a unit of Ishlaen Guard which is not bad as a shield to your footslogging units being pretty killy themselves.

Or you can keep your durability idea and drop the tidecaster for Lotann (another fun model) for +1 bravery on all your namarti, getting also rerolling 1s to hit.

With +1 bravery from Lotann you can do without Lord of Storm and Sea command ability and take +2A for your soulrender or Nightmare Legacy, if you have a low bravery enemy.

I agree about Reavers, they're not the best. They're mostly there to meet the minimum requirements for the battalion. Perhaps even to screen.
That being said, the thought of 20x3 shots at 9" entertains me

I'm unsure about battalions at 1000pts too. The idea was that Namarti are fairly fragile so bringing back 84pts worth each turn without having to roll would hopefully get them to where they need to be at full strength.
Also, without access to any summoning, I worry about the lasting power against Tzeentch, Seraphon etc.

I was considering a group of eels! They look like such a good screen that can dish out some hurt too. I'm definitely considering a unit of 3.
The tidecaster just seems a little more versatile in this army right now. Despite the nerf to Arcane Bolt and Mystic Shield, I still think they're worth using.
Another point is that she provides an unbind and without her, I'll be totally defenceless against magic.
The Geminids seem just too good to pass up. 2D3 mortal wounds with -1 attack and -1 hit debuff. All for just 40pts?!

Lotann is already on the list. His buffs are really nice for Namarti and he seems fairly durable.

+1 Bravery from Lotann and +2 from LotSS takes Namarti up to 9 Bravery, which is pretty comfortable. Also gives me a bit of flexibility since I think units must wholly be in range to benefit.
Nightmare Legacy looks good. I'll definitely consider that!

Thanks for your feedback!
